I’m not saying they shouldn’t make that music or get they bag

I have never and will never be given a reason as to why an adult woman openly expressing their sexuality as they choose is a bad thing

Who gives a f*** why are you so upset about women securing they bags

Bruh I'm not upset. I'm just tryna prove that cee lo doesnt need to be pressed about this because theres other women who aren't doing what cardi and meg are doing. Relax

I think there's some sort of miscommunication in our conversation haha, because that's what I'm trying to say! Why isn't there a female rapper that can be both? Why does it seem like they have to pick between conscious or mainstream? Why do they have to be mutually exclusive?

Can someone gimme a list of current generation women in rap who don't promote their sexuality at the forefront of their public image? Besides noname and rapsody

I've created this list on KTT several times since WAP was released. I'm starting to see a pattern

Try: Little Simz, Sampa the Great and Kiddo

It would be one thing if the music they made was actually good but no

It’s just an amalgamation of ass and titties and the songs STILL be trash af. That’s wack. Forced lyrics, forced content, forced images.

Yeah but what I'm saying is the industry doesn't allow every artists to just put out what ever song they want.

Example I already posted, k-michelle is ab amazing rnb singer/songwriter but her label literally isn't letting her put out a country record...

David banner, rapper from the south, was told by an label executive that they don't sign rappers who aren't doing gangster rap (when he was coming up)

I think that you're disillusioned with the business aspect of music...

When a concept works, replicate it till it loses steam, reintroduce it some time later (another generation for example)or innovate it= cycle of a product/service in marketing.

Nicki being at the top, yes she didn't invent hypersexuality in female rap but reintroduced it, it worked (financially) and you have other labels trying that same template, signing rappers to do so and prioritizing them over other acts (which happens also in the industry, one new acts sucking up all the budget and time from other signed acts)

It's a thing. We discuss industry politics and marketing strategies for all artists regardless of genre.
Why can't we discuss it when it comes to this generation of female rappers?
