This was a test
To prove that IP is all people will go see.
I predict a lot more rereleases in the future.
since we’re talking re releases i wouldn’t be completely surprised if Top Gun went back into theatres next summer
that is unless they just make a whole film with Miles Teller as the lead

Making a profit opening weekend. Marketing team went crazy
EDIT: Realized that the $17M doesn’t include promo and marketing
Ended up being a moderate success
EDIT: nvm I was mistaken
Eh idk yet
Budget was $35 million
Split that $54 million in half with the theaters take that gets you $27 million, already under budget
Also add the marketing budget which could be around another $50 million or more
Brings you a total of $85-$100 million spent on the movie with only about $27 million in profits so far
A loss of around $58 to $73 million at the moment
To be profitable it's going to need to make like $150-$200 million

Yeah only half or 60% (depending on the studio) the box office of every movie goes to the studio
Theaters keep the other share
That figure including marketing?
No I f***ed up I think that’s just cost of making
I’m gonna edit my comment before I confuse more people lol
