@RVI
nice
a psych prog classic

I like this track a good but better than the other 3 but I'll give them another few listens. I can't even come close to my usual 20-30 listens with these f***ing 20 minute prog tunes

Don't act like you've ever waited 20 listens to decide whether you like something

didn't you say you usually know after 5?
5 is the number im usually going for initially these days but would only say "usually know" for the kinds of music im most familiar with or is most straightforward
but i still prefer to spread out the listens over a longer time period instead of just spamming like 10-20 within a few months
approach ive liked better is to listen to a bunch of an artists albums 5-10 times each (maybe some lesser ones only a few times) and then every year or so go back through and give em all 5 or so more

Right. Usually I would spread it out over like 6 months but everybody starts reaming me out to move on the the next year so fast and there's so much to check out now
I know lol I do the exact same thing when im busy af, just had to guilt trip you. You're also too deep in the contemporary country to make time for this dust lately
truth
I always forget just how perfect of a song Perfect Day actually is until I hear it again after a long time away from it.

Also…
Goodnight Ladies

Satellite of Love

Hangin’ Round

Slowboat (prettiest song on the album)

Fletcher Honorama (most sinister song on the album)

No More Mr. Nice Guys (hardest song on the album)

Lmao didn’t realize I posted those in the Fam thread.
1971 but I'll allow it
they really find their groove next year
I like the album they did with Franz Ferdinand a while ago too

Oh that’s weird. The copyright on Apple Music says 72, but it is 71.

Just finally watched Sweet Sweetbacks Badass Song and was not expecting French new wave vibe. Almost had some El Topo to it as well.

I haven’t seen that in a very long time. It’s due for a revisit.
🔥🔥
very nice
gonna check out this album
Harvest kinda loses its lustre a little more every year but the stark simplicity of the melodies and arrangements still pretty astonishing
as classic as it gets

love that cover too
nothing evokes my childhood in the Canadian wilderness like it (during which my mum had early Neil on repeat)
still waiting for you to listen to those Caravan and Van Der Graaf Generator albums @RASIE
they are the best new things I heard for this year
like I said the Caravan one sounds remarkably like Here Come The Warm Jets which you made me put some respect on
and there John Lydon stan in you needs to put some respect on Van der Graaf
this is what ive been dying for you to hear @RASIE
Hawkwind on Tops Of The Pops
between Silver Machine and this rerecording of Willin, it was a big year for driving anthems @RVI @Koala :datass:
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcrEWRLk3CEWillin is one of my highlights of the year
did you like the album?

Sounds good, still sinking in. Willin has a head start since I already listened to it a bunch for '71.
I have been sleeping on War, this album is some incredible Clintonesque funk
thought they were just Eric Burdons guys
you heard these albums? @twinkletoez
I f***ed up badly missing this album for 1971 so im just gonna call it '72. The transition between these two
