for instance you could have told me this had Clapton, Keith Richards and Mitch Mitchell on it and was produced by George Harrison
melody sounds so familiar too its bugging me. Might just be Let It Be.
it got used in @Koala 's favourite movie

Part of the problem was me avoiding filling up my iTunes with jazz but now that I have Spotify
better quality than YouTube as well, for dabbling.
Just got to the part where his starts singing. Love the instrumental combination, suprised you didn't show me this instead of the most brutal jazz imaginable. Can actually groove to this

@Koala mccoy
What about the prog i posted at you

well i would have showed you if we already did 1969, also its such an esteemed classic i would have thought youd heard of at some point tbh
PROG
classic suite. both their 1969 albums are pretty fire, very strong thematically
It’s very very good, but too bad it’s broken up into 3 tracks on the actual album. It works better as one song. Problem with a lot of prog is either breaking up something that could be one reasonably long song or stitching together a bunch of already reasonably long parts into something unreasonable.
i could see you liking moody blues more than other "prog" because they have good vocal harmonies, shorter songs and are as much prog pop and prog rock tbh

Sounds like it's in the Third Stream realm at points
"a pioneering work in spiritual jazz"
maybe that's gonna be my thing

Yeah sounds like it. Got the immediate thumbs up from Fidelio and I who are not progisseurs.

maybe, some of it is pretty free jazz adjacent and skronky at points tho. pharoah definitely got a few like that. i do remember you not loving Love Supreme though and that is the touchstone. it can be diverse due to different incorporation of ethnic styles
too much spontaneity and not enough composition or arrangement to be in third stream realm except maybe occasionally. both just insanely good styles
speaking of third stream i should listen to the moondog album that came out in '69

Yeah mainly the intro. I'm at the free skronk now
