And the part of me that thrives on negativity actually really wanted the episode to end on a cliffhanger with Eren’s head floating in the air so anime onlys could give themselves haemorrhoids for a week wondering his fate.
Sheesh this episode was amazing. I knew exactly what was coming but it still had my heart beating fast af
I couldn’t believe how fast my heart was racing knowing I’ve read the manga and know how it all ends.
Fantastic episode.
Literally the only complaint I would have is that I wished they showed the trajectory of Eren’s head from the air into Zeke’s hand a bit more like they did in the manga.
But even then the way they did everything from Gabi’s shot to entering PATHS looked great.
As an anime only, i didnt expect zeke to catch eren's head and that surprised me, if there was a trajectory it wouldve lowkey hit me a bit less (also found really smart to put the flashback of eren and zeke in Liberio where eren misses the catch to parallel zeke making it instead which also means eren didnt believe in zeke's ideals while zeke tried up to the very end)
Zeke is such a complex character with ironically the most simple of ideals, hate him but love him at the same time

Zeke is a psycho. Not only did he feel immense joy when he obliterated Erwin's army with rocks (never once showing a bit of remorse for his actions), he also is choosing to castrate over a million ppl, overriding their free will. In his head, his intentions may seem noble but "the road to hell is paved with good intentions".

Exactly, hes a f***ed up individual for sure. He values his life and all the others as nothing, hes the ultimate nihilist of the show and that's why i never believed eren siding with him. Eren rn is the one who wants to live because he was born in this world. Its funny that he thinks that eren is the brainwashed, cause i would argue that zeke himself is more brainwashed than eren
People find Eren compelling because how of much of a tragic character he really is.
He commits unforgivable acts of violence - which completely remove him from the "hero" ideal ppl first instilled in him, but at the same time the tragic element of his whole arc makes it difficult to completely despise him.
yeah i get that but i always felt that everything else around eren was more interesting than eren himself. like he's a pretty standard shonen protagonist all things considered he has family trauma, wants to be stronger (join the survey corps), and has a weak/whiny friend (armin) and a strong OP friend (mikasa).
when he became evil i thought it was a weird change but i was interested to see where it would lead to only for it to disapoint me even more

The way they did it in the manga didn’t give super obvious signs that Zeke was gonna catch it but it at least showed that Eren’s head was flying through the air which really gave it some tension.

Idk how can reach that conclusion after reading the manga. Sure, he may start the story as a pretty conventional protagonist but where Isayama takes him is anything but generic.

I cant speak for the others but i did see his head Flying off with all the blood splattering and i was shocked and scared and terrified and shaking it was awesome
I daresay that was even better than the manga. What an episode.

Anime only. Near heart attack
when did eren become evil
If you don’t get the fact that nobody in Attack on Titan is good or evil after 4 seasons of them hitting you over the head with it then you’ve never gotten the gist of this story.

But he’s right.
It’s the only way to truly end the cycle.
If Eren decides to continue the cycle, he’ll be no different then the Eldians and Marleyans who committed violence and atrocities against countless others.
Zeke’s plan is the harshest but all the history has shown that it’s the only way to make true peace and end the suffering of the AoT world.
