Trailers for a while now have only been used to advertise a series, and being in early production, it doesnt make sense to think they would've taken the scenes used out of already finished episodes. But ultimately, i think that it comes down to perspective. Anime onlies are not gonna notice the cgi cause they're focused on story and dialogues too, while manga readers will naturally be focused on the animation more since they already know what happens. Basically only manga readers have complained while anime onlies in many cases didnt even notice it

FMA is the only show touching this and honestly when you ignore the nostalgia factor AOT is probably the better series.
