    Let's be real.

Neither Kanye or Drake are in their primes rn.

Kanye's not making 04-16 level music. And Drake isn't making 09-15 level music.

They both are capable of making good songs or even decent enough projects but they're both past their primes and people who aren't stans of either recognize this.

But they both left their marks and are the most successful rappers ever barring Eminem(who's the biggest OAT).

Kanye has a much stronger discography and influence but his rapping has gotten hit or miss over time with all the mumbling and sing songy lyrics and his post TLOP albums are hit or miss. Drake has the hits and the numbers and he can spit some decent punchlines but doesn't have a 10/10 album to his name and he dropped 2 of his worst albums(CLB and FATD) this decade. He suffers from quality control and, if his next album is worse than FATD, he might experience 2017 Eminem level backlash.

Both Ye and Drake are falling off quality wise and aren't where they used to be. Only stans on KTT pretend that they're still capable of dropping MBDTF and IRYTITL level music while gassing up any song that doesn't sound mid.

There's other artists we can turn to today for quality and creativity tbh like Tyler, Nas, Peggy, Denzel, Little Simz, Kendrick, Vince, Conway, JID, etc.

But they both deserve respect for what they contributed to music, especially during their primes.

My nigga Bobby_96 lowkey typed all this cuz he didn't feel like starting a war and telling niggas that Drake never surpassed Ye

Tyler surpassed them both as the artsy mainstream guy

They’ve both turned into caricatures of themselves who have collapsed under their own brands and what they feel they have to live up to (constantly having hit records in the club and turning into gang leader shot callers via extortion)

Crazy to see Tyler finally getting his props on here cuz it was me and a handful of niggas catching slander for enjoying CMIYGL felt like there was a hate thread every week

    Lol...good point.

But it's all pointless because many artists are judged by their primes, not necessarily how good/hot they are atm.

There was a time when MJ aka the King Of Pop was dropping music beneath his level and he got grilled for it but he's still revered musically.

Ditto for Prince who started getting inconsistent at various points in his career while having his rebound moments. Prince's music at one point was getting panned like crazy by critics despite him still being musically innovative with his work.

Judging Kanye strictly off of 2022-2023(where he technically hasn't even dropped a true album) is just a weird metric.

Yeah...Ye fell off and is past his prime but his 04-16 run is still cemented in music history.

Drake's run from 09-16 is also cemented in music history(I include Views mainly because of it being the album that made Drake a global superstar).

Drake might be better than Ye atm but that's not saying much.

Tons of rappers have dropped better music than Eminem for a long time but Eminem's 09-03 reign is still cemented. 50 Cent fell off years ago but he's still selling out shows based on his 02-07 reign.

When you factor in ages and generations, Drake SHOULD be better than Kanye. The younger rappers should always take the throne from the old guard at some point. That's how rap has always been. But Drake simply hasn't come close to the artistic and quality highs of Ye's prime.

Aside from Kendrick, there's not a single rapper in history who hasn't dropped at least one "meh" or mid album in their career. Even Outkast's last album was met with mixed reviews.

Drake has left an overall bigger impact on hip hop than Kanye

Take Care/NWTS/Views/Scorpion are considerably bigger than anything Ye has dropped and TC/NWTS are certified classics. Of course Ye has classics but talk to me when he's got a Diamond album, which Drizzy is probably on track to getting 3 of at least

This is embarrassing bait, try to pick up a hobby or something dude

Agreed with pretty much everything here. I say it all the time that when people debate MJ / Lebron they're talking about their prime runs no one cares about the Wizards run and s***

Remember when KTT used to be annoyed by Eminem stans bringing up how his massive sales and popularity make him the automatic GOAT?

Funny how the niggas who d***ride sales still pretend that Shady doesn't exist when he's still factually the biggest rapper OAT.

Em just outsold Led Zepellin in album sales this year and he currently has close to 70 million Spotify monthly listeners without dropping an album since the start of 2020.

KTT is all about "numbers don't lie" until Eminem or Taylor Swift start breaking records lol.

Oh yeah I know, they only value sales and numbers when it’s Drake’s. Every other artist’s ever has some kinda caveat that delegitimizes them

"They don't get played at the club."

"Black people don't listen to them like that"

"All their fans are White so that doesn't count."

"Who puts on Em/Taylor at the barbershop/cookout?"

Funny thing is: If you go overseas, people even in Africa love the hell out of Eminem and play his music more than many other rappers including Drake. Ditto for 50 and Tupac.

A lot of people on here who live overseas have actually said that Drake is nowhere near as big in other parts of the world as he is in America

Kanye is 1 of 1 and one of the best artists of all time

No one will come close to the beauty his art brought to the world

    1. This is shameless low quality bait, but yall gave OP 9 pages lol.

    2. Ye a Nazi so probably at that point I can safely put Drake (and most artists) above him.
