By 2015 Drake's catalog was on par with Kanye's and the only thing missing was having a bigger album release than him. The hype for all of Drake's work prior to 2016 was very popular but wasn't LR/Grad level popular...until Views dropped and became galactically more popular than LR/Grad upon release. Even Take Care took time to blow up the way it did, but Views out of the gate was just a monster and in many ways reshaped the sound of hip hop, for better or worse.

and then he spun back with Views and some of his biggest hits ever, so even old heads accepted itBut artistically, creatively never
I would say Ye has fallen far from his peak
