The word "generalization" is becoming a buzzword and scapegoat to avert the reality we know exists, extreme anti-blackness in the Asian community. It's literally a part of Asian culture to teach their kids to be anti-Black. Your outlier family or examples of few instances where Asians show solidarity is far from representative of the reality we face in racism from Asians on many levels. Maybe if the majority of Asians I've interacted with irl didn't hit me with racist bullshit then your argument would be more substantiated, however, I experience it literally daily going to the corner store. Then when the white people come in the Korean store owner is super nice and s*** like he talking to god. Sorry if the disillusionment makes you feel attacked but nothing I said is anywhere near inaccurate and a few Asian social justice warriors don't make up for the toxic culture that exists surrounding the treatment and views of Black people in the community. Period. My ex was literally Chinese and we lived together and she would get on the phone with her parents and they call me all type of through the speakers, in Mandarin, and she taught me enough to know all the f***ed up words that exist in the language TO identify black people. She had to hide our relationship for months just so her dad wouldn't, in her words, "stop sending me money for university".
I speak on real life s***, this isn't a fairytale. @kollaps and from the looks of it, most blacks in here have been through similar s***.
dog that is wild, i don't even know how you put up with that.

Crazy part is, I assumed she wasn't like that and it was just her parents.
One day she called me a monkey and that was the end of it, almost caught a case but that's another story..
Crazy thing is, her new bf is black too. S***s f***ed up.

i've been lucky enough to where if i dated girls outside my race they aint never say no wild s*** to me like that. But again, those women are the exceptions not usually the majority.
A lot of folks on here dont understand that

I don't even know why that's so hard to get. I've even dated white women who I wholeheartedly believe are genuinely not racist at all and great people - but, does that mean I'll get comfortable and forget 99.9% of the other ones are holders of those traits? Not at all. A few exceptions don't change the reality, my story doesn't erase all the black men killed just for LOOKING at white women. Its deeper than most people want to believe
Dumbass response for a dumbass who starts a thread race baiting over some random one off occurrence
Clown lol
Well idk where you live or what you’ve experienced but where I’m from all minorities, including asians, have a sense of comradery. Which is why I’m so confused as to why OP is generalizing so hard as if all Asians are the same.
Where are you from?
I’m from North Carolina and can tell you it’s not like you described here at all.
Asians are an example of people looking out for their own and succeeding off the business of minorities they would never interact with in any other setting due to the xenophobic ways of their people. That isn't to generalize. Of course every situation is different.

“One off occurrence”
We really wish that were true
Asians absolutely love whites. And Hispanics to a lesser degree.
I've half Mexican, so I was out w my pops and my pop pop at a Chinese buffet or whatever. So they come up to my mom pop pop (full Mexican) and ask if he knows anyone looking for a job, so he makes a call and we leave. Well the guy he called was black but was a good worker, soon as he turned up they said they weren't hiring. They hoped it was going to be a Spanish guy.
I wish more black people learned that every race on the planet is racist towards us.
That defending every other race against racism has gotten us no where, nor has it helped us any.

I'm referring to him saying why asians dont stand up for black people like black people stand up for asians based off one example and trash on twitter
I'm not disagreeing with the underlying point but this thread started off as a race baiting s***post
Asians been racist bruh especially the boomers
But i cant deny that their are racists in my family/cousins/uncles etc and im mexican
My pop pop always talks bad about black people. Mexicans be low-key be w it.

I live in northern NJ like 15 min away from Manhattan.
ITT: people telling other people they're wrong cause they're using anecdotes, then introducibg their own anecdote.
Fr though is race s*** really this wild in the US?

Yeah the east coast is weird over here. Cuz like I said earlier them older heads be racist as hell but a good chunk of the younger generation don’t always share their views. Brooklyn (for me) was one big ass melting pot.
But OP’s point still stands when we’re talking about communities as a whole.

I dont know man I guess I just know too many Asians that have been more than kind to me and my diverse group of friends and it kind of offends me to hear OP bash a race group from whom I’ve never seen this type of behavior from. Not to discredit his own experiences or obvious cultural trends from older generations, but like I said a few times OP said “why do YOU” and I don’t think a single Asian in the KTT community partakes in any of what OP is mad about. We just gotta be less hostile with each other. I’m guilty of it too but we gotta catch ourselves ij these moments and try to grow from them. I’m actually delightfully surprised that we’re all still having this conversation lmao.
i feel like theres been like 2 asians in this thread n none of us has minded op’s generalization bc we understand where its coming from tbh.... like i get i see it, picking apart exact tone of wording detracts from his valid sentiment

to be honest, ya it is 💀
I had a long post that was constructive but I really don't want my notifications blown up.
So anyways, there's truth to the OP even though things rolled into a big ass mess + there are clearly people that have zero knowledge on the history of Black American-Asian American relations. Go read a book and watch a documentary or 2 before you start making 50 posts on a subject with zero understanding of what you're talking about.
There's also casual racism wrapped in a fetishistic bow towards Asian people in here further perpetuating your ignorance lol + some of y'all just hate Black people and need to admit it.
Almost every non-black minority has these racial biases and tendencies for black people. It's f***ed up. I had a black girl for my first gf and my grandparents in mexico were like "we dont have to worry he aint marrying her." S*** pissed me off evem though i know it's a different time period to them

Bergen?
i think one really awful thing that demonstrated what op was discussing was how divided the reaction of the chinese american community was at the conviction of chinese american police officer peter liang in the wrongful shooting of akai gurley
shout out caaav, but far too many people believed liang should have got off, simply bc they felt that had liang been white he would have got off w no repercussions. however, even if he wouldve got off had he been white, he still caused the death of an innocent black man as a police officer 🤷🏻♀️
and i think that really demonstrates how self serving asian american activism can be, especially on social media, but that is not to say all, and i definitely hope that more asian americans become more aware of who we leave out in their discussions of racism in the us
