i think one really awful thing that demonstrated what op was discussing was how divided the reaction of the chinese american community was at the conviction of chinese american police officer peter liang in the wrongful shooting of akai gurley
https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/world/2016/apr/18/peter-liang-akai-gurley-killing-asian-american-response
shout out caaav, but far too many people believed liang should have got off, simply bc they felt that had liang been white he would have got off w no repercussions. however, even if he wouldve got off had he been white, he still caused the death of an innocent black man as a police officer 🤷🏻♀️
and i think that really demonstrates how self serving asian american activism can be, especially on social media, but that is not to say all, and i definitely hope that more asian americans become more aware of who we leave out in their discussions of racism in the us

interesting case. wont lie ive never heard of this but this is pretty awful.
its not even just racism but also the feeling of being privileged enough to get off for an actual crime just because others have in the past is f***ing gross too. people that think like this are walking backwards.

Appreciate youse and everyone else’s sensible contributions to this thread
The main result I got from it sadly was that I probably should legit just stick to my own people because some of the wild s*** people saying in here really baffling to me
Most of the Asian people who replied to this thread were defensive and dismissive of factual examples levied against them instead of owning up and trying to start dialogue as to why their community acts this way. Few legends like @coze popped up with some insightful posts that I really appreciated.
Just about all my Black brothas and sistas went off as expected and I appreciate y’all resonating with me and voicing your opinions because I know so many individuals stories exist in this thread that are suppressed or disregarded but y’all were heard and I feel you.
🙏🏾
To the weird white people who butted into this thread posting all type of nonsense; you niggas need legit mental help
And to the “I don’t see color” coons, I hope she notices!
You know how deep it runs that Richard Aoki, one of the few Japanese-American members of The Black Panther Party actually only joined to sell them out to the FBI?
Like.... This is a very long history lmao but there has been folks like Yuri Kochiyama (who is problematic but for reasons unrelated to this thread) that were standing in solidarity for black rights in America.
There's a lot of anecdotal examples of Asian Americans in support of black empowerment but the majority of the time it wasn't like that.

He was an FBI informant, he gave them EVERYTHING. S*** is really f***ed up because he aided in arming the Black Panthers.
Some serious f*** s***.
I feel like if black people actually got a hold on the beauty industry our communities would be so much wealthier. Black women spend a ton of money on hair and supplies, we are the biggest consumers of the industry.
And there is nothing wrong with that because we could be generating our own wealth instead of getting pimped. But the Asian vendors will not sell hair to black business owners. It's insane when you think about it. Not to mention, there have been some online Asian companies posing as black-owned companies to reel in the demographic of black people who want to buy from black businesses.
Calling these things out are not racist, not talking about it and pin pointing the problem further hurts the black community so we aren't gonna hold our tongues to avoid being labeled a "racist."
But I ain't even gon act holier than thou cause I went to a bbs with 200 hunnid plus some mo money and I'd do it again cause I want my braids to be slayed while pushing a benz
Dumbass response for a dumbass who starts a thread race baiting over some random one off occurrence
Clown lol
you’ve been angry this entire thread and so have the cornball that liked your comments lol
I'm referring to him saying why asians dont stand up for black people like black people stand up for asians based off one example and trash on twitter
I'm not disagreeing with the underlying point but this thread started off as a race baiting s***post
again, there are articles and several stories even within this thread alone that show black people are not particularly liked in Asian communities, you can get mad at the base of OP all you want but from a completely logical standpoint his claim stands firm.
be white and mad on 4chan somewhere
ITT: people telling other people they're wrong cause they're using anecdotes, then introducibg their own anecdote.
Fr though is race s*** really this wild in the US?
good thing i used NO anecdotes this WHOLE thread
👀 ktt2 needs DM feature lmao wtf
Lol I’m from Edison / jersey city. Koreans rep out here is skrong

Yup thats why I wasnt a fan of how OP phrased this at all cuz I dont know what your experience with Asians has been but mine has been perfectly civil.

Exactly.. Especially how the original title was 'Asians Why are yall so racist bruh'
I'm Asian American myself and from my experience there is no animosity towards black people at all and when I do see racism/prejudice going on, I call it out. Maybe it's just an Tri state area thing, but I know that this is not the case for all of America. If there is any case of prejudice/racism then its usually learned behavior handed down from OLD/FOB people or a person that is jaded from a 1 negative interaction.
I get OP's sentiments, and I attribute that to ignorance and the bubble that most Asian Americans live: Reserved, typically only hang out with other Asians, not active politically etc.
Most of us Asians don’t even stand up for ourselves lol. We face racism on the daily but we don’t bother defending ourselves, we just ignore it. Instead we just focus on studying hard at school to get good jobs and working hard to build successful businesses. We use the hate as motivation if anything 🤷♂️

Bro I was also thinking what if it is a tri state thing?
There are so many Asians that live here they have no choice but to be civil. But again, this is all new to me. I've never seen an overwhelming amount of racism coming from an entire community. It's just not my experience though but because of this I've just never thought Asians culturally had something against Black people (and I'm still not convinced)
The only time Asians have acted rude to me is when me and my boys were hot boxing my old friend's room every other day in high school. His mom didn't like us cuz we smoked weed not cuz some of us are Black lmao. And even so, as strict and traditionalist as they were, they still let my boys and I come through.
Now I do seriously believe their dog was racist but that's a different story

How many times 2pac and michael jackson gotta say nobody cares about black people? Kanye got up on tv and said the same s*** about yall president. From where im sitting s*** is nothing but facts. Why yall fighting for people that dont give a f*** about yall is the real question
black people really in america fighting for feminists, lgbt, mexicans, china and all that s*** but when they fighting for themselves them niggas nowhere to be found. s*** is comedy
yall let lgbt/feminists convince yall yall homo/transphobic/sexist if u aint fighting for them but them niggas aint fighting for yall b. make it make sense. i see niggas make racist comments on twitter and s*** them boys in the comments be telling yall why are yall still so upset she apologised get over it but let kevin hart say some s*** about gays and niggas tryna cancel him. man im dead
