I'm probably gonna finish it by tomorrow too. It's a biweekly release too, so it won't likely be finished for another two years. A year passed by in the manga, so I'm guessing it ends when the kid graduates?
That’s what I’m assuming with this pace so far . It sucks having to wait every two weeks now though :(
This story was simple and wholesome. A good read for the summer.
Fr. It’s that happy slice of life that’s chill to read
It's mostly cause of its anime adaptation that got people attention. Added the aesthetic, the lore and how they intertwine with their tradition and culture is smth that every japanese could have an appreciation for, it's been a minute since a title rep their culture to such degree
People are still talking about it there's TikTok memes and vtubers singing covers. Oh yea the OP song was huge too
That's interesting. Sounds like a perfect storm type of thing then. I was unaware that a lot of Demon Slayer was rooted in Japanese culture but I'm not Japanese so it's not like I would catch it
Knew it had to be something cus it is a great looking show but outside of that it's similar to most shounens in my eyes (based off the first season)
The movie records are crazy

yeah it looks cool, but I got bored 5 episodes in and dropped it. Feels like I'm the only one not interested lol

first 5 episodes are trash, i did the same thing lmao
glad i came back to it tho, gets a lot better after episode 10
Cute af chapter. Reminds me of the trailers for Marriage Story
Marriage story broke my heart

I think the world looks really traditional Japanese and the demons are too
Mainly what pulled me out was the characters. Apart from Tanjiro they’re annoying and the dialogue sounds fake
The art / character design / premise / fights / animation are all dope
Marriage story broke my heart
Same
at least Horimiya is just wholesome all the way through
seven knights revolution is tough to sit through, it just screams generic to me and i swear i've seen this concept somewhere before
everything else fine this szn just this 1 show is tough
Should I peep Chihayafuru after I finish YLIA
Yes.
It is the best sports anime ever made, and that is a fact.

I try not to compare sports anime really (haven’t seen that many) but Run with the Wind is one of my favorite anime in general so it’ll be tough for me to put anything above considering I slapped a 10/10 on it
I am excited to peep Chihayafuru tho bc you guys always saying it’s goat

I'm really biased because I play Karuta (the game portayed in Chihayafuru) IRL. But regardless it's a pretty anime, I think you'll like it if you're into sports anime in general, might not be your GOAT because IMO it's hard to compare sports anime (because really, all they tend to have in common is that they're about sports, the subgenres tend to differ heavily)

It's a lot more physical than it looks. Not to the level of a full contact sport like Basketball/Soccer/Football, but it drains you. It's physical and requires intense mental concentration, which ends up making you tired as hell by the end of it.

They explain how it’s a sport in the anime
The anime is structured like a sports / slice of life anime where the arcs revolve around karuta competitions, training for them and the relationships between the group members
I love the characters in this, the karuta matches are surprisingly intense and get you invested, and every thing is nice from art to animation to music
