They explain how it’s a sport in the anime

The anime is structured like a sports / slice of life anime where the arcs revolve around karuta competitions, training for them and the relationships between the group members

I love the characters in this, the karuta matches are surprisingly intense and get you invested, and every thing is nice from art to animation to music

I know we had stuff like aot and jjk but this szn got more gems

tokyo revengers is my fav so far

and to anyone wondering about shaman king's pacing...it's necessary to get through some world-building/characters introduced early for it to develop later on

I wanna wait tbh until this seasons over because during the first few weeks I also thought last season was an all timer because I was so high on shows like HoriMiya, WEP, Re Zero S2P2 before I soured in varying degrees on all of them near the end. Still thought Mushoku Tensei, AOT, and JJK were all great and that AOT season is an all timer but yeah last season, while definitely one of the best in a while, wasn't the home run "best season in years" that I thought it was at the start

so right now this season is looking crazy, but I can see myself souring on some of these shows as it goes on.

I think what made all of us think it'd be an all timer was AOT's ''final'' season

If we had 20+ episodes of aot and the last episode of wep and not have to put up with re zero's decline in quality last season would be awesome

horimiya, JJK, WEP were all 10/10s so I'm happy things turned out the way they did

yeah i mostly agree with this though I soured really hard on HoriMiya with how much it just rushed through the manga. Just made me get less and less interested in the characters as it went on. Felt like I didn't know any of them tbh.

WEP is p good but yeah I also started to not feel so sure about the direction its going in. I will have to see that final movie to really decide how I feel about it as a show. The ending just kinda felt muddled tbh.

cause think about it if you have the storyline any outsider can come in and draw based on that

I honestly think the only reason Shaman King's pacing bothers me is because I watched the original and they spent more time on the exposition, but at the same time I guess since it's a reboot they don't wanna spend so much remaking the beginning from the 2000s adaptation

This season is absolutely stacked so far. Of course, some shows will probably fall off, but the field is OVERALL stronger than last season IMO.

Last season had some standouts, like AOT, WEP, RE:ZERO, ect but this season is solid mostly all around.

i feel like this season just has much more potential than last season. lmao last season i could’ve told you which shows were gunna be worth watching before they even aired

this season seemingly has lowkey and sleeper hits all over though, guess we’ll have to wait and see how many shows stay consistent to the end

Last season was great, I think it's somewhat even, kept 9 shows last season and the quality at the top was phenomenal with Mushoku tensei, jjk, wonder, and re zero I guess

Only show from this season I feel matches up quality wise is vivy

Currently got 11 shows in the watch list, but probably dropping 2 of em
