Megumi Kouno is back
My favourite animator of all time. Can't wait to see how she handles this new show.

I actually finished the whole season. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either. Never read the manga but I lowkey regret finishing S2 it if it's that much worse.
TPN Season 2 - 6.5/10
Dr. Stone Season 2 - 8/10
Who was that at the end of Dr Stone?
Also started watching Yugioh from S1 again
childhood memories
I remember the gang in the city and then going to Pegasus island, not sure if the latter still count as S1
@wusgood idk why this isn't working you aren't showing up

Interested to see what you think when you're through it all
Dr. Stone S2
By all means I enjoy watching Dr. Stone every weak. It's cute fun and lighthearted and not too hard to follow. I like the use of science and chemistry in solving all their problems, it's based off real chemistry so that's cool.
Season 2 is as good as season 1. Just bringing back the same feel again, this time with a more focused war arc.
My problem with Dr. Stone has always been with the more serious, dramatic scenes, like in the last two episodes, or in the first season's background story (you know the one). It's just that the characters are so simple and cliche, I can't get attached to them.
Tsukasa's theory is right: Senku is way too optimistic and confident but the plot rewards him for it. He's yet to face any consequences for his actions. His plans always work no matter how risky and contrived they are. Eventually, he'll have to realize that he has to do bad things for the greater good, but who knows? He might have the cake and eat it too.
Also about the last episode. Why aren't they trying to bring doctors back to life? None of them knows anything about medicine, and yet they present freezing Tsukasa as the only option? They don't even seem to try and find doctors and scientists or anyone useful.
I think as a kid I would've loved it. Which is why I don't judge it too harshly. I geniuenly think this is mostly targeted at kids to be interested in science. So overall it's entertaining but not too crazy.
6/10
P.S. I realize I was saying mostly negative things about it. I did like the more lighthearted episodes of them strategizing against the enemy. I do like some of the comedic relief. Most of the season was pretty good and enjoyable.
Database scores don't really tell you anything except for the specific tastes of the site's largest demographic. The more you align with the site's demographic the more you end up agreeing with everything's score. MAL's demographic is full of western teenage boys and young adult men so you're gonna get certain genres and elements on top of the charts every time.
It's why s*** like the Idolmaster has scores which rank it outside the top 1000 even though the franchise is a juggernaut in Japan. Western teenage boys/young adult men generally don't like shows with majority female cast and anything that doesn't look "mature.'
Also, I think sequels of long running shows taking up a ton of high spots is natural. Everyone who didn't like the franchise in the first place didn't bother watching the rest of the seasons so the only people rating it are the ones who liked it in the first place.
tl;dr: publicly aggregated scores are lame
I also agree it's stupid that most of the top list is Bakemonogatari, Gintama, JoJo late seasons, etc. Obviously if I don't like the first season, I won't continue watching the anime and if I do like it, I'd rank it and the following seasons high.
A lot of weebs also try to raise or lower scores on purpose, like I think they did that with Chihayafuru 3 and I forgot why. I really take it with a grain of salt and mostly go off recommendations.
