Even Ayato upgraded he seems a lot more calm but I haven’t seen much of him yet. would expect him to be acting like an a\*\*hole towards hinami based on his behavior from original Tokyo ghoul

If you’ve watched the show already, but it’s been a while then yes watch the recap movies. If it’s your first time watching the series, go with watching s1.
Although I honestly don’t think they cut anything important from the movies that I can remember

Just watched a YouTube video where they recap each episode and I got pretty decent grasp of remembering what happened. In terms of rankings is it just White whistles known as pretty much the higher ups? Or is there other levels to it ?

I’m in the first few episodes of soul eater, does Blackstar and Kid get less annoying?

Blackstar reminds me of Naruto, except literally every free moment is him backing up his ego and it’s annoying asf. Does he pull his head out his a ?

Kid is cool, but the whole “ I love symmetry “ thing isn’t funny to me majority of the time. Does it tone down?

Death the kid is my favorite character there he gets cooler

damn this haiku s*** kinda slap but ngl fast fowarded a lot of the other teams backstory and minor characters backstory scenes cause I honestly don’t care

even ff/skimmed through the last match on season 2. After watching like a bunch of matches back to back all that volleyball s*** get kinda repetitive

    just finished s2 last night.

still not touching hajime no ippo for sports anime tho. Need some s*** like that. S*** had my full attention even the filler eps/scenes

    Death Note - 6/10

Good news: the first 25 episodes were genuinely pretty good. Bad news: the rest of it was dog s***.

I liked how dramatic the show was. I wasn't buying it and I think the overdramatics ended up being more funny (e.g. the potato chip scene) than it was actually dramatic, but the show committed so hard to it that it never felt out of place. Even if its not really my thing I respect how well put together it all was.

Visually, pretty fun too. Stuff like the colour draining from the scene whenever the good guys lose, Light's red eyes, or the sun coming over the horizon when Light triumphantly says he'll create a new world is so in your face that its perfect for how overdramatic everything is.

The entire second half was trash. You could try pulling some s\*\*\* outta your ass and say something like "it's an exploration on what is and isn't justice!" or "it's about how power corrupts!" but let's be real, the show was about the conflict between Light and L.

The cat and mouse game they played had a lot of heightened tension due to their close proximity with each other. Once L lost there was really nothing that could fill the void. Near and Mello didn't live up to L and Lights conflict at all, not because they were bad characters - but because the writing didn't really give them any favours. Near and Mello felt like they were competing with each other more than they were with Light. On a similar note: Makami and Takada weren't as effective as Misa was since they never actually interacted with the police. All Makami and Takada did was follow Light's orders and for the most part nothing they did had much tension to it.

All in all, still a solid show that I enjoyed my time with even if the last 30% of it was pretty s***.

Anime did near and mello wrong smh half of the manga covered them while the anime only 12 rushed episodes, half of L's arc. In the manga they're actually pretty good characters and second part id argue is as good as the first one but yes, in the anime it was done pretty bad

damn index 3 really is as bad as people say it is at this point im just watching for the moments of cool action and powers on the science side, and the main overarching plot is at least decent enough. anything involving churches or nuns though is usually either boring as s*** or a nonsensical clusterfuck, and that goes all the way back to season 1.

the toaru verse (particularly the science side) is still one of the most interesting ive seen in anime though so ill probably still be around for index 4 lol, and definitely for railgun 4

ya the index side is a complete mess. I didn't even bother with the rest of it after i finished season 1. The difference in quality between index and railgun is astronomical and it makes me sad seeing them waste resources on the index side. I would rather they spend their time on more Railgun or maybe one of Railgun's spinoff series like Astral Buddy instead tbh
