Gonna start reading some essential manga ive never got around to read.
So far i have on my list:

• Hokuto no ken
• Ashita no joe
• All of tezuka's work
• Hadashi no gen
• One piece
• Kingdom
• All of taniguchi's work
• Mazinger Z
• Devilman (crybaby isnt a faithful adaptation so i wont count it)
  Probably also everything else go nagai made

The soundtrack alone had me mesmerized. The animation was so nice too. You’re really gonna hate the antagonist I knew made in abyss could get dark but damn they turned it up a few notches in the movie

I think crybaby is better than the manga. The latter is more complex but not necessarily to its benefit imo

hokuto no ken is dope

devilman is nice but the art looks kinda outdated

Yeah of course op and kingdom are the longest by far im not starting with them
Hokuto no ken was huge here in italy so i was always interested in watching/reading it but i ultimately chose to read manga cause anime looks way more outdated.
About devilman, i dont find it nearly as outdated as other manga that came out that same era, it was decades ahead of its time and it heavily influenced miura's style among many others so it doesnt look odd to me.

I did the exact opposite with hokuto no ken cause I like the old anime aesthetic but if you get deep into the anime it kinda the kills the impact of the fights

only devilman manga I enjoyed was amon. I suggest you look up ''reading order'' before you dive into it

Yeah the anime got that old school 80s vibes but i feel the manga is probably even better as an experience.
Also yeah with devilman i meant the entire series, but thanks anyway
