Its biggest weakness is def only being 12 eps long. The scale of the story is too big to just fit in that length. The story and characters never had any room to breath because it just jumps from plot point to plot point. Machu is a compelling character but I hardly care about Nyaan and the other guy because they didn't get enough time, even though Nyaan seems to have a deep backstory. Plus, I wish we got more time in the cyberpunk setting but now we are already back to regular Gundam.

One example which took me out was how fast they fell in love with the main guy. Doesn't help that there is the whole Char and UC Gundam subplot too which makes the story way too big for 12 eps

yea i agree with everything you said, im not even sure why machu even got mad that nyaan rode the gundam lmao, just felt very silly and not earned at all

it just boggles my mind why they would even tack on the UC timeline stuff considering all the lore and depth that comes with that and in such a short time frame

started mushoku tensesi the other day. finished part 1 of season 2 and it isn't as good as season 1 so far. not terrible tho

I’d say the episode count really f***ed with the story they seem to be trying to tell. This should’ve been a 50 episode series like the old Gundam shows. This whole first season, or at least a majority of it should’ve just been focused on Clan Battles, and fleshing out Nyaan & Machu relationship with one another. Like the moment in the latest episode felt good when they were coming face to face, but the build up to that moment if this was just a decade ago, this would’ve been a season 2 thing or at least 2nd cour.

Lack of those filler/slice of life episodes really hurts this. Personally I’m still very much enjoying gquux,but yea you see where they could’ve really made this an epic telling.

I think for someone starting with MSG franchise with Gqux, it’s still enjoyable. Might be a lil lost but most of the call backs to the main timeline are subtle enough that if you know you’ll , but if you don’t it’s not the biggest deal. Hell I’ve watched 0079, and still don’t recall all the characters names.

Mystery, world building and action is the one thing that ties these together which I assume you liked about AOT. Shows like Wolf’s Rain, Darker than Black, and Made in Abyss.

Durarara is good if you like slice of life elements baked into action and mystery.

Loving Soul Eater

Love AOT and also love Durarara but it is a very weird show. Character driven so give it some time if you don’t like the characters you won’t like the show.
