Oh f*** this is gonna save my life

only 2 episodes remaining for most shows i'm watching so here's my scores

rock is a lady's modesty 6/10 - a fun concept but disappointing. the humor is very repetitive, like there's basically 4 jokes that are just repeated over and over. the entire middle stretch of the show also felt like the same episode again and again. the music is pretty tame as well, like it should be so much louder and brash but it just feels flat and lacks impact most of the time

kowloon 6.5/10 - pretty mixed on this one. not what i was expecting at all. some episodes had me really invested in the mystery and in others i was completely disinterested. i can't imagine all this being wrapped up in a fulfilling way either. decent for what it was but i don't think i'd watch another season

yaiba 7/10 - extremely generic shonen story but every episode is beautifully animated. i've enjoyed all the characters and the humor has really hit for me to. this new trend of classic manga getting a modern adaptation is awesome. if this gets another season and wit maintains this level of quality, i will be there no matter what

food for the soul 7/10 - a perfectly watchable cgdct sol. not much else to say tbh

cinderella gray 7/10 - okay, i guess. not really invested in much that is happening but it has it's moments. the races are fun though. i assume it'll get another season and i enjoy it enough that if i had time for it i'd continue watching, but i wouldn't feel like i was missing anything if this was all i watched from umamusume

shiunji family 7/10 - surprisingly not as degen as i expected. it looks like s*** and it's incredibly predictable though. enjoyable trash

apocalypse hotel 8/10 - super fun show. lots of variety in it's set ups and resolutions. the humor always hits and it's always surprising you with new stuff. feels like one of those shows that will get discovered more as time goes on, it has less than 10k current watchers on anilist

apothecary diaries season 2 8/10 - overall i think i enjoyed s1 more but this was a quality follow up. it took a way too long to get going but i've really enjoyed where it ended up. maomao has become one of my favorite characters and i'm really invested in the world and story. hopefully future seasons don't have the pacing problems this one had

ninkoro 8.5/10 - banger of a show. every episode is hilarious. there's a little bit of monogatari dna in it's animation every now and again, which i guess is expected cause it's shaft but it done in a nice way where it just feels like a little nod and not in a fan servicey way. some of the background music is really beautiful too, it always catches my ear. easily my favorite of the season

MSG Unicorn Re: 009, 9/10 show. Man that ending was powerful. In the novel Banagher more or less becomes one with the Force iygm. I like the anime ending more. Gives you more hope for the future.
