Way to misinterpret what I said. Btw those actions you refer to are not presented as righteous or heroic. For that very reason I found it very curious how some people rooted for Eren despite the fact that he is clearly framed as a villain. It shows how easily an "audience" is able to condone inhumane acts, as long as they feel an emotional connection to the "hero" of the narrative. And yes, I happened to find that interesting, because it's a scary phenomenon that happens repeatedly in real life.
also miss me with those insinuations.
i didnt misinterpret anything like idk how you can read AOT's ending and think that its ideas and themes are still interesting when it negates practically all of it
JJK S1 was pretty consistent in building up the world, cursed spirit techniques, and cast for the later events in the story
Also I think it's really funny when people talk about the reverse holocaust narrative for AOT this show is so obviously about Imperial Japan rearming itself and taking over the world as they were "destined to" in the eyes of Isayama if it weren't for those meddling Allies

I wasn't talking about the manga ending (that opinion I already left on the last page), but the anime. But we can talk about some of those themes too if you want.
Your reply of "I don't see where the interest lies because X ideas are bad" doesn't make sense.
Death Note, for example, has a protagonist whose motives are immoral and evil. However, the writing around him is interesting. Guess what, I liked the series, and guess what I despised Light from the beginning.
The way Eren is written - a character who longs for freedom but is a slave to his own nature and the deterministic laws of his universe - is compellingly. I don't gotta like his motivations to see this (in fact, it works even better because I don't agree with them). I fw you but boiling it down to "jews holocausting nazis" is as shallow as it gets.
Episode 8 of mob psycho.... beautiful
Season 1? That's around the time mob protects Ritsu, right? Mann this show is SO good
it only gets better, you're in for a treat fr.

the reason why i bring up AOT's ending so much and why it kills AOT's interest for me is because it's one of the rare cases (at least from all the mangas that i've read) where it's ending changes the entire outcome of the series and not in a good way either.
when i was reading AOT up until the timeskip i thought eren's aspiration for freedom, the worldbuilding, and characters like erwin, hange, levi, and pre-time skip armin were compelling, but after seeing where all of that lead to, it soured the entire experience for me. if you think my reasoning for why boiling AOT down to that is shallow then its probably because i think the writing itself from that point onward is pretty shallow. especially eren and his sudden heel turn

S3
personally AOT lost me with its "what if the jews holocausted the nazis back" fanfic + genocide vs eugenics nonsense in the second half but if thats interesting to you more power to you
Nothing cornier than trying to connect AOT to the Holocaust as if the situations are remotely the same
didnt mean to start a discussion about AOTs DOGSHIT ending
Just wanna say all the stuff yall saying has been said 100 times already by others, give it a rest

there's quite literally references to it in the basement reveal and how the eldians are treated by the marleyans but if you insist

i knew it would lead into that my bad

It may have been inspired by it in some referential instances (to ground the series in realism of what a genocide could look like) but the situations can’t even be remotely compared when the Holocaust was based on a belief of racial superiority / nationalism while this is based on a very real threat to the entire world

?? I mean... Weren't these level of topics were already being touched with early as 2nd season? Massacres by Titans, countless lives slaughtered under a monarchy, and secret service evel optics to surpress the people?
Or did you just not like the real world comparisons people put to the nations specifically?

Nah, it has an actual plot. It's a Yakuza anime with just a maid cover.

No you're right on that, I was talking more about my level of what a "heavy" topic is for a show. Whether that would be about violence or just the topic of ideologies being pushed against another. I can see why the whole genocide s*** can turn some people off.
