turned it into horror rather than the proper sci fi thriller IMO

Mostly yeah. Last bit was more aliens but overall felt it was more like Alien.

Prometheus was good imo. Don’t really like covenant. The other movies and show are ass. Just feel like they had more going with Romulus than the ending of covenant.

Covenant... rewatched recently; and I actually liked more of it than I remember. But definitely "out there". Some good xeno action sequences

But overall —DAVID is the f***ing man

Speaking of which, remember how we almost got Alien directed by Neill Blomkamp

Garland could be interesting tbh. But I’ve always liked him more as a writer than filmmaker. His writing on the 28 films is the best thing he will ever do

Man Blomkamp gotta have one of the biggest fall offs of all time

Put Garland on the script for the Romulus sequel and we might finally have a decent modern Alien flick
Plus dude has a close working relationship with Spaeny so that makes it even better.

Honestly though I think Romulus is such a gigantic piece of dogshit, I’d rather have garland launch a whole new thing in the Alien universe if he was to do it (though I also wanna see Ridley finish out what he was doing with David as a character)
