its great to re read as an adult. as a kid you dont really grasp a lot of it. it can come of as holden being like a brat.
but then when u reread it as an adult and you realize hes this like broken person whose a victim of so much tragedy you feel so bad for him because he only wants to protect kids from the same thing he went through. makes your heart feel heavy

one of my fav parts is when this guy whose his roommate is going on a date with a the girl he likes and is ignoring holden while he shaves.
and then holdens other roommate, who he describes and pimply and gross comes in and tries to talk to holden who holden ignores because he looks down on him.
how the roommate looks at holden like holden looks at the other guy, everyone is one both sides of that at the same time constantly to different people.
that really stuck out to me when i re read it

Green by Hiroshi Yoshimura
This one for all my green heads. Surely you look at this album and think thereās no way this guy made the music equivalent of the color green ? Well, youād be 100 percent wrong this album from start to finish will make you start seeing green . Itās kind of like ost music that would play when you either beat the game or there is zero enemies around . Great album
I was quick to skim the album the day you recommended it and was pretty excited because it was apparent there was a good variety of styles on the album and everything sounded well-produced/engineered ā all trademarks of an album that Iām surely gonna enjoy.
Unfortunately, thatās not what ended up happening for me. Every song on this album is well-made and functionally does what itās intending to do, but, and to be honest, lacks a strong sense of personality
Perhaps, Iām underestimating how large of a factor the language barrier is, itās possible Iām missing something else entirely. I just struggled to find the flair or finer details that would connect me more to the music here. The instrumentals are competently made, Silva is hitting the notes, but a certain pizazz remains missing.
Iām curious to know what you and others connect to with this album. I will say the run of Girassóis, Vou Falar De Nova, JĆ” Era has a nice momentum. Carmesim is my favorite song due to the beautiful strings and Gabriele Leite feature. The cover art is also quite beautiful, a physical would probably be cool to own.
Feel free to tell me if Iām tripping or want to point out what you appreciate about it. In the meantime, I will give you my honest rating of 5/10. A middling score for an album that felt very āmiddle of the roadā to me.
think ima only listen to this once i hate this kind of music
i am not a fan of the beatles nor john lennon.
i found the writing to be sweet and sentimental. but i didnt really enjoy the instrumentation or vocals.
not my kind of music unfort.
fav songs: Mother, God
will prob be something i enjoy more when im in my 30s and have my own backyard to blast some music on a cool afternoon
@kurapika_20
Skee Mask - Pool
here is link to listen it since he doesn't have his music on spotify
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phnBNqLE2vAI dont have much of a frame of reference for electronic music, i don't listen to it much. So it was a tough listen but i was vibing by the 2nd song and after a couple of relistens. Stone cold 369 kinda feels like i ripped a whole in the matrix or something. I like crosssection too, it was super groovy . sound feels like im underwater which is weird for an electronic / edm type album
Overall i feel somewhat positive about it , i should probably check out more electronic music
Favorite tracks
Stone cold 369
Absence
Crossection
Pepper boys
Listening now
@atthepyramids Will edit this post with a longer review later, but I really enjoyed the album
The textures were amazing, not a single miss on the album
Felt that s*** so deeply you reposted it at 4 am
sticking with flowers, Iām gonna assume youāve yet to hear this one.

Journey With The Lonely
I REALLY f***ed with this
I been looking for music from that time period that has this specific sound and this hits all of those marks. Itās sensual and smooth and jazzy and funky, itās perfect for for a late night drive, this is right up my alley
A few of these songs sound vaguely familiar so I feel like Iāve heard them before either on the internet or on the internet, but it was great to hear them in a full album context.
My favorite tracks are Club Lonely, New Dance Beat, AHHHH!, Dancing In My Sleep, and Funny How You Love Me.
Now Iāma see if thereās an affordable copy on Discogs I can cop because I need this on vinyl
