This is amazing and I still have like 50 mins left to go
When heās begging them all to stop fighting and basically speaking to how we all feel in the world right now
His whole ābeing kind isnāt naive itās strategic and necessary⦠itās how I fightā
When he speaks to jamie lee Curtis auditor, connects with her as a human, she drops the charges, he starts singing and mopping the floor ā> evelyn realising what he has done -> her hugging him, him dropping the mop and them embracing
Evelyn finally āunclenching her fistā and everything that represents
Seen it 3 times in theatres and last 2 Iāve been thinking Iāll probably hold it together but it really gets me so good and I feel it all
I loveee Evelyn but Waymond really provides the whole emotional anchor for the film and Evelynās arc to work around
Saw this like a month ago and I'm just realizing that was Jamie Lee Curtis
Yep movie of the year (sorry Northman)
The waymond section breh whereās your SOUL at if that didnāt get you teary
Heās so adorable, just an awesome dude
I'm upset I watched movie of the year this early in the year, happened with coda last year too in january
Heās so adorable, just an awesome dude
Perfect addressing of the joys in acceptance of nihilism too. Such a yin-yang to their daughter's "nothing matters" borderline suicidal approach.
I knew this was gonna be great from the first 5 minutes and it didn't let me down. Easily my fav film I've seen this year.
just realised one thing this movie reminded me so much of
that south park episode where kyle finds out the tooth fairy isn't real and becomes an existentialist and gets obsessed with philosophy to the point where he stops existing and becomes every physical and living object at the same time

random but there has to be another person like me out there who noticed
Classic episode lmao

This movie has more in common with filmƩ movies than it does with marvel lol
Name 10 āfilmĆ©ā movies you putting this next to
I think someone nailed it earlier comparing it to a mix between Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind & Matrix
This reminded me a lot of a Matrix sequel like 2 or 3 where Neo spends all that time talking to the Architect.

You didnāt like it?

Not what Iām saying. Joy with her minions talking about the Bagel reminded me of the Architect.
I'll get killed for this but this is slightly overrated. 7/10. It's a unique movie and stands out among the current crop of movies coming out today and I don't mind it being called a masterpiece but this just didn't hit home for me.
That whole second part was what made me not like this movie as much as others. This was when the themes of the movie - 'nothing matters', 'love and acceptance' came to full light but it all just felt too preachy. It's something that would have moved me if I was young but I just prefer a bit more subtlety when a movie appears to be giving a moral lesson. Felt like I was watching Naruto do his talknojutsu at some points
The hype machine and fanbase for A24 movies annoys me much more than the movies themselves
Yep movie of the year (sorry Northman)
How is this better than Northman?
