More so best movie of recent time, it seems like the general opinion is it's the best movie since parasite, although a few have called it one of their favs of all time

I feel it. I mean I like the movie a lot. Seen it twice. Saw it with my fam and even my grandmother had a good time. Give it like an 8.5/10, best movie I’ve seen this year so far.

Ay lowkey, I’m checking my Letterboxd and it does have my highest rating since Parasite. But to me these last two years haven’t been that great movie-wise. This year looking like it might the best yet for the 2020s

    Red rocket for me

Watched Florida project cause of the hype and it was good but it didn’t make me want to check out the rest of Sean bakers filmography

Red rocket made me a fan of Sean and now I’m going back and watching all his old s***.

edit: also just love the story of how this movie was made

Craftsmanship of parasite on a whole another level but this movie was more emotionally profound for me

I respect it. I didn’t grow up on scary movie so I don’t have that connection to Simon Rex like others did.. with that being said, he was great in it. Just didn’t connect with the movie as a whole that much.

ight so Parasite was released May 2019, so technically anything released after that can be compared to this even if it was released in 2019 as well.

Movies I enjoy more than this since parasite:
    Uncut gems
Once upon a time in Hollywood
Portrait of a lady on fire
    The irishman
Honey boy (released at sundance Jan 2019 but wide release was Nov. dunno if this counts)
    Peanut butter falcon
    Sound of metal
    Quo Vadis, Aida?
    Promising young woman
    Minari
    Judas and black messiah
    Titane (lol personal choice)
    Red rocket

So yeah Everything Everywhere is still a really well done movie IMO, but I have too many favorites since parasite that I enjoyed way more.

I found a lot of this really funny actually, and the special effects were awesome. I was honestly surprised at the majority of the film taking place in the IRS building. I will say it was cool they didn't do a typical multiverse movie where the main character travels to this universe and that universe. It was more so showcased with flashbacks and things like that while the main character was still present in the "original universe"

Did the emotional points in the movie hit for you? Honestly did nothing for me. That being said it was still a fun movie
