Because in live action we haven't see enough of Superman being human and helping humans see their worth. We have seen him save people. We have seen him f*** lois. We have seen him being seen as a God. Snyder having Superman not talk to humanity outside of saving them from destruction. This is Superman talking to someone to save them from themselves. From something in their mind. A Human condition that he perhaps wouldn't understand because a Superman or Martian Manhunter mental health different lol. Superman later in life told his people wiped out but mentally he doesn't have capitalism, self worth ,depression to the same level as a human being. So in short we need Superman with empathy as corny as it sounds. Not saving people just because its prophecy or the right thing to do or cause people cheer him on but because he has empathy

i see what you’re saying
Yeah a big problem why I never really rocked with Superman (atleast on the big screen or animated) is because he just seems like a symbol of a white savior
verses someone like Spider-Man who is white but has all those traits you stated. Like it’s hard not to root for Peter because he’s the average joe who understands the people & just trying to do the right thing although he fails at times

He was too white savior in Snyderverse. The court case getting blown up didn't help. Then the idea of a powerful white man who is good turned into a evil maniac
Spider Man in MCU got his struggles too but he getting there.

Yeah I think Snyder was going for the idea that DC hero’s are God like verses Marvel hero’s which they’ve shown to be more human (although Marvel has their flaws too when it comes to that)
If James can bring the humanity into DC hero’s then he has something special

At this point just want a different tone than mcu, snyderverse, cw or x men now deceased verse. find their own groove. I wish them luck even if I am gassed out on hero s***

Yeah I agree
Truly wonder what that looks like at this point

Snyder's DCU was about Gods finding their humanity.
Snyder's DCU was about Gods finding their humanity.
oh yeah it was . I just think the way they found their humanity could have been better done progressively and less activated quickly. It over focused on the action rather than showcasing humanity in more than darkness
Snyder's DCU was about Gods finding their humanity.
I honestly didn’t get that message although I see your point
execution was not the best if that was the case

Superman feels indifferent to being a savior but he's brought closer to finding his humanity at the end of Man of Steel when he has to choose between killing the last of his kind or saving the human race.
He finds his humanity at the end of BvS when he has to make the choice of having to sacrifice his own life for the human race. Batman finds humanity again in seeing his sacrifice.
Maybe it wasn't clear enough with MoS but by the end of BvS I think the theme is pretty clear.
All the fan castings I’ve seen for Superman made me realize how young “young” actors look nowadays.
It’s kind of crazy how almost every major contemporary actor can play a high schooler.
I don't like "Legacy" in the title, seems appropriate for a 3rd or 4th movie, not the first one

It's representative of the main theme of who superman is a God with powers beyond most but in spite of all the s*** he prolly could do in a moment like that whether it be stopping a bank robbery, fighting a super villain he's on top of a building talking down a young girl.
Superman in his foundation was a progressive hero and a man of the working class who fought societies issues along with supernatural beast hut with all his power he's never distant from his humanity.
At his core his stopping supervillains comes from the fact he's trying to help people.

That's such a crazy tak because Spidermans heroism comes from his failure to do the right thing whereas Supermans comes from being an immigrant raised by and around poor people and having to come out of that.
In film I can maybe understand you getting white savior vibes because the Snyder films suck and he has a deep Christian conservative belief system but the cartoons!?.
It just goes to show image works and how desperately Superman needs someone to redo his cause Spiderman is more likely to be a government agent then Superman inflation in the films and comics Spider-Man has worked with he feds alot more.

I mean the idea behind Spider-Man is that anyone could be him or see themselves in his shoes (atleast that’s what’s been portrayed through film & current media) Yes he fails but that just adds to him being relatable & human
Never felt that way about Supes
If what you saying is the true Superman then yeah he definitely needs a redo in characterization on the big screen cause I can not relate to him at this point

The crazy thing too is, Peter’s foundational “relatable” traits are all taken from Clark Kent and put in a teenage context
