It points to the double standards and hypocrisy. It conceals clarity. It signals people’s blindness and their willingness to ignore rationality, instead to choose whether consciously or not perpetuate a losing battle between human constructs instead of aligning toward a higher moral standard.
Simply a lost cause, but I still root for the good ones that is what gives me hope for a better world
It points to the double standards
There is no double standard. This is already a huge politicised murder in the news. And like you and your other friends have mentioned, if a black person were murdered by a racist white person, it'd be national news, just like this is. One user even mentioned George Floyd, alluding that it was a bigger story, casually ignoring that it is police brutality, not civilians killing civilians (see my other post). Also, we live in a different political climate than we did in 2020.
and hypocrisy.
Of what, anyway?
Btw, do you really think white people are subject to more racism than any other race in America? If not, why argue this stance? If there is a documented murderous crime towards a white person, they will receive the consequences; it is not a consistent issue, while many races, particularly black and brown are subject to numerous hate crimes everyday, documented and undocumented. I'm sure you condone this, but what is your end point? You are the one disregarding the fact that they are likely schizophrenic and promoting the idea that this is a primary hate crime and we need to address it as that (with little evidence suggesting so), but you haven't offered a goal. Several users here did. Coolname mentioned how it's related to mental health and raising awareness for the US' f***ed up mental health system and their sheer negligence. Conservatives do not want to talk about that, just like they don't wanna talk about gun control either.
I know reactionary conservatives do have a goal, and it's to promote the agenda that black people hold murderous envy for white people
It conceals clarity.
How is anyone concealing clarity here? Everyone realises this is a tragic killing.
It signals people’s blindness and their willingness to ignore rationality, instead to choose whether consciously or not perpetuate a losing battle between human constructs instead of aligning toward a higher moral standard.
What you have mentioned so far (people dragging this lady's name in mud) is what randoms on twitter are saying. Twitter is hardly a reflection of the real world. No one disagrees here that her death was a tragic murder, besides one user being edgy in this thread.
Now let's take a step back to my point two: you have no goal or actual root cause besides randomly spreading awareness. Just so you know, the majority of the discourse surrounding this death has been politicised to the point that we are having unironic discourse that black people are simply more violent. There are suggestions of segregation, mass incarceration, and that there is an ideology among black people that want to eradicate and level white people (Great Replacement Theory).
lack of intervention from anyone on the train to help her says a lot about the current state of society.
