I hate and love how Thug always says the most out of pocket things/flows on the songs that seem to be stepping stones that could blast him off, it shows how he wants to do it on his turns but to casuals it’s just weird. Thug was cold when Top Off Benz dropped and even though they forgot the auto tune that verse was just too abstract. “Bankroll” with diplo and Bieber his whole flow and the “ drop the soap wit her” like we all know you trollin fam.
I got tons of examples too, the Nothing is Promised leak with Rihanna

Granted I love all of these verses like I said I’m just highlighting Thugs insistence seemingly on doing it on his own terms, like he said “I could go Michael or Prince, or I could keep the score how it is”

I genuinely think Thug can stop using auto tune at all with the way he’s progressed. Just heavy reverb and pitch correction/melodyne.
Wow Wow Wow auto tune speed is at like 20 compared to like a Wanna Be Me is a 0, feel like he could’ve just sang that

I mean, look where it's gotten him. To the top! And he has never had to compromise, never made a SINGLE artistically dishonest or unambitious choice when it mattered. imo that's preferable
