I never been into streaming but I discovered RDCWorld streaming uploads on YouTube. Now I just be watching them play Mario Kart, Gangbeasts, Lethal Company, even random cheap wonky ass games. Like I'll not play a game on my PS4 and watch one of their videos instead
I realise how stupid it is and how much time it takes but I can't stop
don’t fall into this trap bro, for real. it’s gonna develop into you now just being on your game device for 6+ hours a day between YouTube and gaming. find more interesting content that will actually benefit you
like i follow a realistic fitness nerd who’s also funny so i get the best of both worlds where he occasionally throws in memes or jokes but the content is just centered on getting better at lifting with minimal to zero editing so your forced to really listen to the constructive information
hope someone kicks your door mirror off you dumb f***
@ks99 That's a NBA thread s***poster. Ignore them, they're trolling

I get what you’re trying to tell bro but entertainment or art is a valid way of spending time, even if you don’t learn any skills or gain real world knowledge
I’d say playing a videogame hands on is much better than watching streamers do it for you tho

Facts, I think it started around the pandemic, then I was unemployed for almost 2 years just watching their s*** and it really hit me recently like "Wait, I been watching these mfs play video games for like 5 years now
"
Gaming in general seems more and more like a waste of time as I'm getting older, I still have like 20 games I haven't even touched yet that I spent money on. But I'm watching these guys play games instead
How is reckless drivers using their cellphone somehow his fault
If it's happening several times clearly something is wrong

nah gang
i got homies who get off work right onto the game until bed time. that s*** is so dead to me and I’m still young and refuse to carry that s*** into my 30s lmfao
where’s the health? where’s the spiritual growth? where’s the mindfulness of self? where’s the actual social aspect outside of events like just casually chilling with the homies at a park literally doing anything but being inside? lmao
this what I mean. we losing this s*** the more we let “entertainment” become our hobbies
But like what are you doing on your phone while driving?
Anything ranging from scrolling TikTok, writing important messages that just came to mind, YouTube.... It's an addiction, so just anything to keep your mind on the phone fr

yea covid definitely exacerbated people’s over indulgence into entertainment and that time dilation when you realize
holy s***, it’s been 5 years. i could deadass listened to coding podcasts in that same time
it’s never too late tho lmfao, just want you to stay aware. you’ll notice just how different your brain fires when you give your ears actual brain building content versus literally dead-end entertainment consistently lmfao

nigga put your phone in the trunk until destination
bet a lot of people do this. i know what you mean and you might have to forcibly train yourself
there’s a researcher who said phones/tech/social media are literally one of the hardest things for humans to put down today cause we’ve been conditioned to it like nothing before
If it's happening several times clearly something is wrong
Maybe he jus outside like that

I disagree. There’s a time and place for everything. As long as you keep things balanced in your life it’s okay. Moderation is the key and if someone can’t control that, than it’s really on that person to change their habits etc
Listening to music, going to a museum, films, gaming all can be good ways to do mindfullness on your own or do those things in a social/group setting
It’s really not as black/white as youre making it out to be tbh

There are a lot of people with really bad awareness of their surroundings. Typically they are the ones who complain about stuff like this
If it's happening several times clearly something is wrong
It’s cuz too many people out here do it. If I’m at the front of a red light I sometimes watch how many people drive thru the light with their phone out, I live in Florida which is notorious for bad drivers so it’s gotten real bad

the conversation here is built on lack of moderation which has greatly increased today with social media, such as YouTube, where people find themselves having been on there for 6+ hours watching pointless content like buddy just said
it really is black and white tho. there are hundreds of millions of people who literally do this all day every day gang just change the device of choice lol
they been warning us since 2003 if not earlier like 1984 book type s*** lol. it’s a big deal and only gotten worse in an exceptionally rapid pace

Past 3 months I feel kinda detached from my phone, like some days I go for 7 to 8 hours w/o checking my phone

I spend most of my days with fleeting thoughts. Writing. Listening. And collecting old Beach cruisers. The morning rides keep me on a hill of silence.
you have a lot more discipline than a majority of the world if you were offline for a few weeks so more props to you. i seriously envy you
Discipline doesn’t last a few weeks though

taking baby steps and going at your own pace will work in the long run though

ik it’s easier said than done, but taking initiative and putting in the effort is what counts imo

yea and it doesn’t help when the new conditioning that blew up in the shortest time in daily usage human history literally has no “how-to properly manage” manual lmfao

i feel you bro. my current job is so f***ing boring and mindless that i just go on my phone all day (got a new job thats more physically demanding though so things will change for the better).
i’m hopping between books at home to help keep me occupied, but i end up getting sucked into youtube vids and google rabbit holes admittedly 😕…it’s a struggle but im getting there
