nah knowing people on their 40s, the judgments hit harder when your peers got homes/families/businesses and you still “trying to figure things out” or can’t even afford to socially keep up with them. and regardless, whatever you lack will be sorely noticed by everyone around you (lack of kids, lack of marriage, divorced, still working an hourly job, etc.)

It don’t hit the same as it did at 32 when you pivoted your life, now you 40 and still pivoting??? when 40s is supposed to be setting up 65 if you missed out on it in your 20s/30s cause now you are literally running out of time and eventually energy where if you still figuring it out and you that old now it’s gonna be way harder. this unfortunately ain’t 1900s when inventors and late bloomers had nothing but time in their day and livable wages to “figure things out” later in their lives lol

you not living on crack for most of your life and falling into success like Samuel Jackson did in the 1900s lol. It’s 2026, if you don’t catch time now you gonna be left behind inevitably and it comes quickly

this just simply is not true. majority of the people you are referring to are still the same people who got famous in the 1900s. once you move into the 2000s, 2010s and 2020s, having s*** generally figured out or a clear plan for the next 5-15 years before you even get to 30 is a commonality cause of the speed technology introduced to our lives and the minimization of all the aspect of life that made making it later in life possible such as, like I said, wages that equate to costs

I can’t just decide to go to college at 36 and land a full time job that can afford me a house by 40 like people were able to do on the 1900s after bullshitting their 20s and 30s d***ged out or whatever they was bullshitting on, come on now. you do that today and people looking at you at 36 as a potential statistic, not with hope you can be better and change your entire life after wasting 36 years of it. nowadays if you still on your bullshit and wasting time by 30 cause you think you got a lot of it, people are generally beginning to not take you seriously as a developing adult or someone they can rely on

I’m not American…? lol. I know plenty bum Africans who in their 40s asking their nieces and nephews to send them some money cause they still trying to figure out life. It’s not something to look up to my nigga 40s you should be entering or near entering your peak. it’s a bleaker outlook on life to not accept that in your life as normal in exchange for complacency as the window of opportunity gets smaller
