Also i think they shoulda got a diff white lady to play Emma stone part maybe the girl in Pluribus or the girl in succession or the girl in severance
I thought this was great. Took me a while to get into it, but Yorgos’ gift for arresting images and bizarre sense of humor took the wheel by the end and that’s what I bought a ticket to see. The more horrific and uncomfortable it was, the more I liked it.
The twist was necessary as it brought back the ecological and existential themes that took up a lot of the first act. Would have been pretty unsatisfying otherwise. Teddy is important to driving the plot, but the destructive and potentially evil nature of humanity is what the film is actually concerned with.

Bad take. She killed it.
I loved thw twist just wished they had better costume & world design. It felt a little too comical.
the alien design, language, set, all KINO. and it's always funny in these types of movies where the certified psycho dude is right at the end of the day
ok this was cool very great acting from emma stone and jesse plemons also aidan delbis was very good for it being his first role great to see an actor with autism n that prepresentation we rarely see in feature films. overall was goiod not great considernig we got OBAA, Eddington etc this year this not near that level of cinema or even anywhere near poor things the story is just quite flat couple problems 1 why did aidans character kill himself that seemed randon there had been no of suicide or killing himself to go to the aliens 2 yeah she was revealed as an alien but that thats it the film finishes we dont get to see her playing out this masterplan or living in that space (fucking up humans as a CEO planning like a villian from her CEO office etc.) she just goes into the spaceship everyone wearing drippy baggy streetwear the end felt as an audience member i felt shortchanged. visually nice but not anywhere near as stunning as poor things was a bit too wordy slow in parts not enough action but cool not a must watch tho
Went and saw this. Freaking amazing
Give Plemmons an Oscar
Yorgos is rising up my list of filmmakers with every release
Love what they did with the 4:3 aspect ratio with this. In the house scenes it felt closed in like the side of the frame had been cut off. But in the exteriors and office it felt really expansive and IMAX-like.
