I have this poster / a poster like this on my wall and is2g if it has these niggas faces in the color smears I’m gonna be so tight lmfaooo need to unsee this
Lmao prepare yourself
And he makes amazing movies at that
He has an incredible filmography with a few meh exceptions
Kinda took me out of it with that "twist" at the finish line but a dope movie nonetheless. Really dope actually, technically insane. Just felt like they didn't really know how to end it
Yeah I was left a little disappointed with the ending. Also felt like they didn’t really end up going anywhere with all the philosophy/politics even though there were some profound effects on Bella.
Thought they’d go more into the socialism/capitalism commentary, maybe the book does but the film made it feel like the author was glazing himself for pointing out flaws in society without offering any novel ideas on it.
Art direction was immaculate, Emma stone delivered an Oscar performance, great supporting cast and plenty memorable characters that didn’t overstay their welcome. The old lady on the boat was my favorite
Finally watching today. Thank god it was brought back to theaters

Lol I did go see it. Just got out an hour ago cause I ended up watching American Fiction too.
The performances were good and it was pretty funny but I’m ngl I feel like a lot of it went over my head. I was tired when I watched tho. Gonna need to look up what it was exploring before I know how I feel (besides the obvious feminism theme of it all). I’m a big fan of Yorgos in general
Also it was kind of a coming of age story imo

Yeah the more I’ve sit with it the more I like the movie. I don’t think there was a message it was necessarily trying to hammer in and that’s ok not every movie needs it. I just went into it with Yorgos other movies in mind where there was something deeper under the weirdness of it all.
This plays it straight in the sense it’s a coming of age story about a woman in a surreal situation and we follow her as she learns and experiences the world. Nothing deeper than that it’s how someone with no prior biases of things would see and handle certain situations
I'd love to hear a good explanation of how and why certain lens choices were made throughout the film. Seemed random on first watch but I bet there is a good reason for it.
This was months ago so you’ve probably gotten your answer but from what I got out of interviews I think they used wide lenses to illustrate the wide eyed view a child sees the world then fish eye for the hyper focus a child would have in certain situations
I can’t remember the exact moments they use fish eye to confirm if the theory works but I remember seeing it once when the fight broke out at the dance
yeah this was really good but also a very male centric view of female sexuality/empowerment imo lol. I also don’t like how they randomly shoehorned her ex-husband in (who was also terribly written like don’t look up/saltburn tiers of s*** writing). ran for too long but had a lot going for it otherwise

What made it male-centric iyo? You're not the first one to bring up that issue with this movie as well. I'm just curious
