    I caught the video, the one Aus posted. But you couldn't really tell if Ye was freestyling in the background

    Don't think that's the case with either album.

    There's musical shortcomings for sure, but as far as being time capsules of exactly who he is in that moment, I don't really think they could be any better. There's a genuine sincerity to them that I miss in his more recent music.

    JIK could definitely have been way better even at being a time capsule. He legit came up with way better ideas for Donda not even a month after JIK dropping.
    Plus he was really overdoing the Jesus stuff during that time and even he admitted that in the thanksgiving prayer he did in 2021.

    At least JIK has amazing, rich production. You can tell ye was rushed and made in like 3 weeks. And it's not the focused 3 weeks that 808s got

    JIK production is amazing but it would be 1 or 2 points higher if it was mastered better

    cant say that about Ye

    I think he could very well have captured that time capsule feeling in both albums while reaching its potential

    But you are right in the sense they do capture the era he was in for both albums
