man, wish some of these songs were longer. album feels 85% complete. still pretty solid tho
I feel like plenty of artists nowadays have one verse/short songs, Earl, Pinkpantheress. And even if you get one verse, its his best rapping in a decade. I see songs like circles as an interlude. Songs like Damn, yea he just repeats it over and over, but its crazy how good the song is still.
I dont mind one verse but the song should feel completed , he just fills the gap with the sample or the beat until the end and sometimes too much. and it makes you want to skip the song after his verse .
Sisters and Brothers is so good
I got invooooolved
song feels like youre sitting in an electric chair on the lowest setting

I like listening to the sample, and believe most songs on here end where they should with a satisfying conclusion. Preacher Man is a little long. But we all have different taste.

Yeah I wouldn’t even say 85%
It def had the potential to be some of his best work since the mid 2010s, but most of these tracks sound like moodboards or ideas for a track
Most of the tracks are just - Beat (amazing production ngl on most of the album, has to be said) running for 40 secs, a mostly forgettable verse for 30 seconds and then some sampled vocal interlude or outro and the track is already done
It’s good to finally have a somewhat sane Ye on an album, with no dumb manic nazi raps, but it’s still an undercooked album. Like I said, great production tho

thats true but i feel like with this attitude, a lot of peoples top tier kanye songs would've been kneecapped. Imagine if Heard Em Say, Runaway, I Wonder were one verse, one hook and 30 seconds of an outro. Imagine if their beats didn't develop or change, just one section played for 1-2 minutes while kanye gets down one thing and then thats it.
Got ice coffee in my cup
Big arch in my mouth
And Billy in my ears
Yup. It's lunch time for Rangy! 😊
Ye is the only one who can make this lazy music sound decent , so we can be disappointed while still be somewhat satisfied .
The bar he set with his first 6 albums is too high .
old highs and lows had a sick sample but man that new harmony swirling through it had me on mars for my first listen

SHE GOT BACK AND A PRETTY SMILE, SHAWTY POISON
SHE GON PLAY WITCHO EMOTIONS, NOW YOU BROKEN
THAT THE GIRL THEY GOIN BROKE FOR, GOT EM BROKEN
his best album since dark twisted fantasy for sure
it feels focused for once
Love seeing late career albums get ranked so highly
this is my opinion for DONDA

Sure but I'd argue songs like Punch Drunk and Whatever Works do not need to be longer, so he's just making a different type of song
