I would say donda is just too bloated. If it was narrowed down to like 13 tracks and released unedited, I think it would be a classic

Its messy but the good parts are so good that its still an elite album

Donda & Vultures 1 are damn strong efforts contextually you could only ever dismiss them if you’re caught up in the s*** show, probably can’t find too many other examples of someone so obviously past their prime managing to still put together 2 albums that legitimately interesting/worthwhile

Can we find out which albums were released during that timeframe and remove them from canon
im gonna say 2018. since then he:
- scrapped Yandhi
- went on a promising year long redemption arc with the Sunday Service but still couldnt find it in himself to properly see it through. the result is an incomplete album and generally regarded as his worst solo record
- multiple things that dont go anywhere: JIK 2, wash us in the blood, that awful song with the pink artwork (cant remember what its called)
- did give us donda - his best album in ages - but its still rough around the edges, super unfocused and has its own trash moments like tell the vision
- donda 2 (lol)
- had his deals and reputation torn to shreds after the antisemitism stuff
- released vultures 1 which is decent but definitely kinda soulless with him not really having anything to say. who knows how much ty$ carried this one
- vultures 2 (lol)
- been increasingly using AI to ‘finish’ his songs and music videos

That hospitalization / break down really changed him for the worst. The lead up to Pablo and balancing Yeezy definitely caught up to him and from then on he’s been off creatively and never got the spark back.
This is why Inkind of give grace to people like Frank and D’Angelo and them cause maybe they stay consistent cause they don’t push themselves if they don’t have something with great quality to drop.

SpiderManVultures 1 was pretty focused and super killer.
He promoted it and was proud of it.It's pretty obviously about Vultures 2, which he didn't bother promoting and gave up on in May. Didn't record any vocals post April.
Didn't do any release posts until 5 days after the album was released (that too was by his chief of staff who took over his account for a month).People speculating Donda are even dumber as the music itself and any behind the scenes footage or interview from around the time will show you how much he cared about it all. Hell he said he was sent by God to make music on Earth in a street interview a week after Donda dropping.
Kinda sad for Ty, cause that was meant to be 'his' part
