Confirmed that Donda is overrated ass album
I would say donda is just too bloated. If it was narrowed down to like 13 tracks and released unedited, I think it would be a classic
Certain songs on there just kill the flow of the album for me

Its messy but the good parts are so good that its still an elite album
Donda & Vultures 1 are damn strong efforts contextually you could only ever dismiss them if you’re caught up in the s*** show, probably can’t find too many other examples of someone so obviously past their prime managing to still put together 2 albums that legitimately interesting/worthwhile

Ive played vultures 1 an absurd amount of times. It definitely lacks some substance but its extremely fun music and an elite gym album
“I like music again” is the oldest trick in the Ye marketing book, this is like the 5th time he’s pulled this one
I’m in regardless
Does he like rapping is the real question?

yeah, fs I take it for the pure debauchery that it represents, back to backing it with donda is actually so fascinating
DOC was robbed of a leading role in rap history tbh
would be dope
Why do I remember reading that that boy DOC had miraculously recovered his voice and was gonna drop an album just after the straight outta Compton movie dropped. Did I Mandela effect that?!
So when did he fall out of love with music
Can we find out which albums were released during that timeframe and remove them from canon
im gonna say 2018. since then he:
hey guys. i love donda by kanye west. and i also love vultures. but , yeezus is still his best album
also , why would he Chop beats ? wouldn’t he want to create beats? why chop them? to hurt them? why.
He's pretty much admitting his music been uninspired
Could be the love of listening to music as well.
im gonna say 2018. since then he:
Forgot about Wash us in the Blood, lowkey a banger.

i always had a soft spot for that track, it is a fun song

Why this mf didnt love music anymore but still went out of his way to drop (to stay relevant prob)
He couldve just went silent like Kendrick till he had that spark again.. tf

That hospitalization / break down really changed him for the worst. The lead up to Pablo and balancing Yeezy definitely caught up to him and from then on he’s been off creatively and never got the spark back.
This is why Inkind of give grace to people like Frank and D’Angelo and them cause maybe they stay consistent cause they don’t push themselves if they don’t have something with great quality to drop.

i don’t think he knows how to stay silent and content with himself for more than 6 months at a time
AI album coming
Yeah think it will be the first full AI album by a major artist
Ye likes to be the first in everything
Vultures 1 was pretty focused and super killer.
He promoted it and was proud of it.
It's pretty obviously about Vultures 2, which he didn't bother promoting and gave up on in May. Didn't record any vocals post April.
Didn't do any release posts until 5 days after the album was released (that too was by his chief of staff who took over his account for a month).
People speculating Donda are even dumber as the music itself and any behind the scenes footage or interview from around the time will show you how much he cared about it all. Hell he said he was sent by God to make music on Earth in a street interview a week after Donda dropping.
Kinda sad for Ty, cause that was meant to be 'his' part
