everyone is saying the music video is animated using AI technology, it probably is, it's a lot cheaper than paying real people to do animation work

but I like the idea of what feels like references to some obscure old surrealist movies, if he did this with a real human doing the animation I would respect it more

If you asked an AI to make a Ye music video for a song like 530 it wouldn't be able to come up with something like this on its own, if you use it to make wild ideas come to life in a way that is clearly AI generated it becomes a different conversation than just being lazy, cause Ye could've just paid someone to do this, this is about capitalism and control

The AI aesthetic is not holistically a bad thing, cause realistically its power is limited and it ends up often creating surrealist imagery, which I love, but the point and meaning of surrealism is important and it gets confused when its a computer doing it simply because it doesn't have the capability to copy it exactly like the person controlling it wants to do

People using AI want to create perfect clean images with manufactured properties, they don't want something that feels dreamlike or creepy, there's a disconnect when it creates visuals that aren't "perfect"

Main point being AI as a technology is interesting in a way but people have made more interesting thoughtful surrealist imagery, it can't recreate the true magic of original human creativity, it'll probably reach a point that it can recreate perfectly what creatively bankrupt people want it to make, but I don't think for truly interesting artists that's a problem cause funding for transgressive thoughtful entertainment has long been b******ised and most interesting writers and "creatives" struggle for funding already before AI became a thing
