As a Kendrick stan, I think Drake is necessary for music. We all gotta take ourselves a little less seriously and just appreciate this music for what it is and realize that different people are just really good at different things. I think there’s a lot to be said for the amount of work he’s put into the game to still be able to tap into different facets of rapping and take that and make it readily available for anyone to listen to and enjoy. I much prefer when Drake raps to when he sings, but just cause I hate his singing doesn’t mean I’m gonna discredit the work he’s put into that aspect of his ability in making music. He has a lot of R&B records that I actually like and a lot of singing that I do not enjoy like HNVM.

Idk, maybe I got away from the point of this post but I’m pretty much just tryna say why discredit him for all that he has done for the genre as opposed to enjoying this moment we all have been so glad to experience? I’ll agree, a lot of his lyrics do leave a lot to be desired as he circles the same topics MANY times, but when he does it right, that s*** HITS and it’s usually only like a couple songs here and there on an album that are duds like that.

I guess I’m just tryna say that I appreciate his artistry and all the music he’s given me to be able to listen to, enjoy, think upon, and share with others. Race my mind is one of the greatest songs I’ve ever heard, I know a lot will disagree, but that songs captured everything Drake. S*** like that, I don’t think you get those moments with music when you head into it with prior misconceptions about the artists. Idk, just my 2 cents
