Is there a reason why sometimes when entering battles, my teammates get hit for like 60 damage an attack and Ichiban takes as little as 5 damage?

Also how important is it to stay with the same job? Switched from one that I had a level 7 to a brand new level 1 job. Am I screwing myself?

could be anything from a lvl difference between the characters to the armor you have equipped. and na you should be fine with restarting the job, although i kept most of mine the same for my playthrough
