I already buy digital 99% of the time, but it’s still going to suck when we eventually don’t even have the option to buy physical

But users on this forum told me that my concerns about physical media going away were overblown and that I was being alarmist. What happened? F***ing joke. Horrible day for ownership. They even told me "stores will never allow them to get rid of physical! They make too much money!"

And anyone cheering acquisitions. Hope you learned something from all this. They had over $300 billion cash on hand, btw. Stock is up all year btw.

    KING SPAWN

they mostly got rid of the extra HR, accounting, management and administration that was bulked up from 2 billions-worth mergers

as far as ive seen there hasnt been many devs, creatives or designers laid off

still cant see why they cancelled the Survival game after spending MILLIONS on it

    https://twitter.com/ARueda21/status/1750538565023367316

In the 3 hours since this post several creatives have spoken up about they themselves and their teams being laid off.

Not that it f***ing matters. A person's livelihood is affected regardless of if they were creatives or not.

these disc games are already dependent on online services to either finish downloading critical data or zero-day and beyond updates. they act as an authentication method now a days to say you own a game

everyone saying "oh its cheaper" fam you can get digital codes for wallet funds on sale all the time + theres digital sales literally every week. Get with the times old men

Yup. And when they revoke your right to boot up the game you like or remove it off the store entirely we will all be crying together.

Even if none of that was true, options are bad, I guess!

@ me when that actually happens to any game. Steam, playstation, or xbox. (not online only game when servers go offline).

Every game ive ever bought (even digital games from 2009 on xbox on demand) has remained in my library downloadable and playable EVEN with games that have been delisted and removed from store

You know how dumb that reads

When games get delisted and you didn't own it before it got delisted how do you intend ppl to play it?

I think most retail Xbox games can be played straight out of the box offline.

The only physical Xbox game I know that truly requires online installation is Flight Sim (not referring to the online-mapping feature).

You know how dumb you sound when 40-50% of physical games right now require a download to even play the title. (Mostly games mode from like 2017 on)

If what youre saying becomes true that the download and s*** is taken OFF THE STORE and unable to be accessed that will effect PHYSCIAL GAMES TOO

Number completely made up. Games requiring day 1 patches in order to function is also part of the problem. I also push back on that.

Isn’t it because of cross-gen/Smart Delivery?

I should’ve pointed out that I’m referring to Series X-only software.
