If Gunn is really taking inspiration from the 1978 film for his version of Superman, then Reeves’s Batman wouldn’t fit tonally or stylistically whatsoever
Well to counter that, Gotham and Metropolis in the comics have always been polar opposites in the comics.
Gotham being the dark, crime ridden, s*** hole of a city and Metropolis being a bustling, well metropolis, that is bright.
its 100% is not gonna be pattinson in the dcu that would be so stupid darkseid gonna come to earth and batman gonna crash into the ground cause he dont know how to use his wingsuit properly

Ur fav Batfleck was struggling with Leto Joker & he somehow almost killed Superman.
Anything is possible if the writer wants it

Reeves’s Batman universe is very grounded in reality though, same as Nolan’s trilogy was. It’ll be very hard to then insert Pattinson’s Batman next to the rest of the DC lineup.
Gunn’s Batman would have to be more mystical and fantasy like certain iterations of the character in the comics are

Yeah and those movies got trashed because the writing was very stupid
Yeah and those movies got trashed because the writing was very stupid
Yet no one questions why Batfleck was able to do all that, we just went with it.
There are ways to pull it off, which starts with not sticking to these universe rules anymore.
MCU type storytelling should not be the norm for all these universes, because that always causes problems with nerfing characters during team-ups and such
Look at Thor. Dude was the GOAT in IW & is back to being written like a bum cause there had to be stakes & he had to fight Gorr the God Butcher

You act like there wasn’t a whole film in between that where he was basically depressed, and then at the start of Love and Thunder he’s back to being his warrior self but still feels empty inside
I don’t even like Love and Thunder but the characterization isn’t out of place

And that was all done to make him a non-threat to Thanos to make Tony the big hero.
The fat Thor s*** was so dumb that they reversed that within 3 minutes into his solo

I don’t see how it was really dumb when it was in line with everything that happened with his character over the course of the MCU.
He lost his brother, his best friend, his mother, his father, his girlfriend, his sister that he had no idea about until she tried to kill him, his hammer, his entire race of people, his home, AND he had the opportunity to kill Thanos before the Snap and he fumbled it.
It’s not wild to think that the person who lost literally everything and blamed himself for a universal genocide would let himself go and stop caring about anything

Conceptually this is true and honestly too real for the MCU lol problem is they made it into way too much of a joke especially for a film with those stakes (Endgame)
Rhodey making a Cheez Wiz joke when Thor was basically tryna sacrifice himself out of desperation for some control of the situation is one of many examples where they fumbled what they were going for with depressed Thor
Been going through Smallville the past year and I think it’s dope that on premieres and finales after they do the recap they say “And now, the season premiere/finale of Smallville”
Makes it feel important
Another mcu discussion in a non mcu thread who could have seen this coming
Why is Gunn getting such a backlash? He’s taking over and not to continue what was done prior
Why is Gunn getting such a backlash? He’s taking over and not to continue what was done prior
Because they want him to continue what was going on
Because they want him to continue what was going on
And it's James Gunn of all directors, which indicates WB is still chasing the Marvel ghost and could mean we will be on this same cycle
Can you imagine if by the time wb dc finally pull off the marvel s*** that the world will have moved on from it
Why is Gunn getting such a backlash? He’s taking over and not to continue what was done prior
cause we got shasta brand joss whedon in charge of dc now
He just wanted Superman and that’s it
It was never gonna last tbh
He only wanted to do the movies as Black Adam if he was the lead
the rock treated the dcu like some wwe storyline
it was never anything more than a vanity project for him
He just wanted Superman and that’s it
Dwayne stacking these Ls and all before Christmas
