Well to counter that, Gotham and Metropolis in the comics have always been polar opposites in the comics.

Gotham being the dark, crime ridden, s*** hole of a city and Metropolis being a bustling, well metropolis, that is bright.

Reeves’s Batman universe is very grounded in reality though, same as Nolan’s trilogy was. It’ll be very hard to then insert Pattinson’s Batman next to the rest of the DC lineup.

There are ways to pull it off, which starts with not sticking to these universe rules anymore.

MCU type storytelling should not be the norm for all these universes, because that always causes problems with nerfing characters during team-ups and such

Look at Thor. Dude was the GOAT in IW & is back to being written like a bum cause there had to be stakes & he had to fight Gorr the God Butcher

You act like there wasn’t a whole film in between that where he was basically depressed, and then at the start of Love and Thunder he’s back to being his warrior self but still feels empty inside

I don’t even like Love and Thunder but the characterization isn’t out of place

And that was all done to make him a non-threat to Thanos to make Tony the big hero.

The fat Thor s*** was so dumb that they reversed that within 3 minutes into his solo

I don’t see how it was really dumb when it was in line with everything that happened with his character over the course of the MCU.

He lost his brother, his best friend, his mother, his father, his girlfriend, his sister that he had no idea about until she tried to kill him, his hammer, his entire race of people, his home, AND he had the opportunity to kill Thanos before the Snap and he fumbled it.

It’s not wild to think that the person who lost literally everything and blamed himself for a universal genocide would let himself go and stop caring about anything

Conceptually this is true and honestly too real for the MCU lol problem is they made it into way too much of a joke especially for a film with those stakes (Endgame)

Rhodey making a Cheez Wiz joke when Thor was basically tryna sacrifice himself out of desperation for some control of the situation is one of many examples where they fumbled what they were going for with depressed Thor
