I feel like she’s taking it a little too serious. The fans were just recreating the Broadway poster. Green p**** meme is wild but also not trying to be offensive to her personally
I guess it is still two parts

So this is what the theater kids have been jerking off to all this time, to release their pent up annoyingness, huh?
Good for you, theater kids. I'm familiar with "Defying Gravity" from Glee, but otherwise I went into this blind, and I'm of two minds about it.
I do GROAN at the insistence that everything mysterious, and magical, and dreamy about The Wizard of Oz needs some convoluted explanation.
But also, you have Ariana being cute, and Cynthia being grounded, and this big, glossy, populist filmmaking. Too glossy. Everything is alight in the same flat, depthless, artificial brightness. But there's also clear competence put into the mechanical razzle dazzle of it all. This is a musical wholly unashamed to be a musical, and it succeeds by its own bubblegum sensibilities.
Also, Ariana is dating the munchkin guy in this, Ethan Slater, and I have to say, I totally get it. They're the same type of person (variants of mice) and they look perfect for each other.
When they end up doing Popular by Kanye in this movie

Is this a pasta?
No, these are my thoughts
At least the film is committed to being a musical, unlike a certain crown prince of Gotham

Don’t look at me, I’d give that film a rotten tomato
I just think it’s better than people say
wait. this wasnt supposed to be good
super excited for this now tbh. past 2-3 weeks of social media reactions had me ticking up and this seems to validate what some of the less serious fan-reactions seemed to say which is exciting
They got themselves a bonafide hit
Tough
