its not the most elegant way to describe a woman but that wasn't the question. The question was if it was offensive
Odd, sure, but nobody with any sense would find it offensive.
why wouldn’t they? it’s never been used in a positive way lmao
“females always...”
Because the world has gotten so radical people see malice in everything. Normally you give people some benefit of doubt but now 1 statement is enough for people to put you in a group they hate. Not dislike, HATE.
It actually is a horrible way of thinking and when i was on social media more it bled into my real life and i was way more of a confrontational and unpleasant person because of it.
I remember when i brought a fan in the summer and it was DOA. I walk back to the store i got it from and because i was on twitter and KTT2 so much i came in there with way more ferocity i should have, assuming theyd accuse me of lying or wouldnt give me any compensation or something. The lady at the counter was super nice and immediately i felt like an a******.
Its not what you say its how you say it, this is apparent in languages like french and japanese where inflection can change the entire meaning of a sentence. and because the internet doesnt have universal inflection system or something, people just assume the worst, or you assume people assume the worst. IRL no one cares if you say it nicely
terrible post
you’re just waffling
Women are mad because 'fuckboi' doesn't have the same ring to it
Broads stay salty cuz the MALES got better catchphrases
Question for those defending the word "female" would you refer to your mother as a female? in the same manner you refer to other "females" ? cause I could call my dad a nigga or my nigga cause I mean no disrespect at all when I do
The men ITT saying is not offensive your opinion ain’t valid.
You aren’t a woman. The thing is when men say “female” it’s done in bad situations and tends to have a degrading connotation.

Dorito boo what is you doing 😫
Because “female” doesn’t even specifically reference a human. It’s degrading a woman to her most biological s***organ. Female basically means “has vagina” whereas “woman” is nuanced and encompasses what it means to be a woman.
FACTS
Beautifully put.
the word itself isn't offensive but its often used by men in a disrespectful/derogatory manner
Imagine the thread needing to go beyond this post
Anyone who refers to women as females clearly just thinks about p*say and nothing else about women.
the worst thing about the internet is if enough people are stupid people can take what YOU say and tell YOU what YOU mean lol

By your same logic you (or a hypothetical woman with this stance if you aren't one) aren't a man to tell us what we mean when we say it lol
if niggas wanted to say b**** then they'd say b**** lol

humans are animals/mammals in their most basic form tho lol
I think people are missing the point I was making because this thread has been so combative. I'm not saying female is the term to use or something. I'm just saying that it isn't offensive.
My example with the animals is that a word can be used under different contexts. Girl has become like the word female and can be used to describe things other than humans. It does not make the term offensive or dehumanizing even though it is being used to describe an animal. In the same way, female doesn't suddenly become dehumanizing just because it can also be used to describe an animal.
Even within the scientific community we still refer to animals as girl and boy informally. I am a researcher and anytime I'm talking to my supervisor or colleagues about the amount of mice I have left I always use the terms girl and boy. If I was going to publish a paper or something then yes I would use female but again that doesn't make it offensive to use.
It is the wrong word to use in my opinion it just isn't offensive.
where is your avy from
the argument doesn’t exist for being against calling guys “males” as a noun bc it isn’t common. it’s not about calling women “females” to describe them as women that’s offensive, it’s that using “male” and “female” as nouns are most commonly used to describe wildlife, not humans. plus, factor in the connotation of the term being very commonly used in a derogatory manner as a replacement for “bitch” & you come to realize that women have every reason to be offended when they’re referred to as “females”
what is the scenario where a nigga can get off "Female" as an acceptable substitution for "bitch" and it dont sound awkward af lmao
y'all females tripping
y'all women tripping
y'all b****es tripping
lmao only one of these looks/sounds right
Idk why women are offended by it but I can say it was never really in my vocab because it always felt like a way for niggas to say b****es or hoes without saying it

all of them look/sound awkward asf
“y’all trippin” is the only way to phrase that where it doesn’t sound weird

Well why is it offensive? Because I ain’t never heard of that stuff until I heard it on clubhouse and my cousins said it like one time to me and it makes 0 sense. Most people I’ve seen use the word female say male the same exact way in context so I don’t understand the offense. Of course, since it offends people I try not to use it but very confusing because no one’s giving an actual answe
