i’ve saw some nasty things that i wouldn’t even consider saying
We really need to make likes public
Why so you can demonise people for sharing an honest opinion whilst supporting trans rights, because that isn’t what is alienating so many people to the trans cause already right?

No just so I know who to avoid on this site lol
“You’re a bigot if you don’t agree with and parrot everything we say in its totality” type energy.

Are you having fun putting words in other people's mouth without even trying to engage with them?

If you genuinely think this you have no idea what you're talking about ajd I'd advise staying away from these topics entirely because you're doing more harm than good by making people think their hate is justified because of "people being annoying online"

You copied some Dave Chapelle talking points and now play the victim cause people disagree
enjoy being “one of the good ones” is all I can say, see how it turned out for Blair white , Dave Rubin etc
Those people will come for your head sooner or later
This isn’t about whether or not I like being “one of the good ones.” I don’t just fyi and I tell them that that is a toxic way of looking at it when someone says something like that to me.
I only said that as an illustration of how people’s views of communities get distorted if they only see part of the community, and if they could see the whole they probably wouldn’t be bigoted at all.
But you seem determined to paint people who may simply be misinformed as hateful monsters who just want to hurt innocents, which is almost never the case.
Going down the vtubers rabbit hole and ummm im thinking nothing of value is being lost there 😬😬😬
It’s not about losing a potential source of entertainment.
I’ve never watched a v tuber in my life.
It’s about the fact that a vocal minority of people who claim to speak for LGBT people viciously bullied someone until that person quit the Internet.
Any sane person who hears about that would condemn the actions of the people who harassed the victim, and since the harassers are claiming to speak for the LGBT community, some people are bound to lump the two together.
That’s why LGBT people should distance themselves from these lowlifes as much as possible and publicly disavow them and their hateful, self serving “activism.”

There's an equivalency I won't make because I feel it's not my place to make it that just exposes how bad your point actually is

Also on that last part, nobody has to come forward and disavow anyone lol not everyone is a public personality, most people just live their life like regular normal people
This is the harassment btw except for a couple of agressive comments it's pretty f***ing tame

Why is the point bad?
I’m offering clear, actionable steps that even the most busy, unknown, and/or weak members of the community can still take to help mitigate damage done by awful twitter “activists.”
No matter what your circumstances are, simply taking five seconds to tweet something like “as an actual member of the LGBT community I do not support harassment campaigns” is perfectly doable, and if enough people did it, it would help lessen the potential for the average joe associating negative actions with the community.
What, is there something wrong with holding the community to the absolute bare minimum acceptable standards that we hold everyone else to? Or are you one of those “ends justify the means (even if the ends are actually hurting the means)” who want an excuse to lash out at and hurt people you can tell yourself are homophobic because that feels good and you can somehow justify it to yourself, irregardless of the fact that that only adds momentum to the cycle of hate, and hurts the community more in the future?
I know you probably think that everything is black and white and the LGBT community are pure hood and anyone who they don’t like must therefore be pure evil, but most people don’t think like that.
Most people don’t care about the LGBT community or homophobes either way.
If you want to win people over to the side of tolerance and acceptance, then you cannot allow disgusting actions like harassment campaigns to become aligned with the community.
No one will ever willingly support a group they believe does stuff like that.

I don’t have the thread at the ready to post, mainly because I have a life, but I recall seeing a thread with at least 10 tweets, each with four screen shots, full of death threats and hateful attacks on the streamer’s character.
Good job finding the most softball example you could though. You’re a natural at arguing in bad faith

What is it with you and glentothe putting words in people's mouth lmao at what point have I said Im OK with harassment? At what point have I said I think everyone in the community is good? At what point have I said anything about the ends justifying the means??
Your point is bad because it only serves to justify bigoted behavior from people who are just looking for an excuse to be queer phobic lol, if "nobody cares" like you said then why should they care about any of this s*** then?? Nobody gives a f*** aboujt harassment either, queer people face a s*** ton of harassment on a daily basis buuuut you don't hear much about that in public debate and discourse, but somehow everybody's an anti harassment activist when streamers get a few comments asking them to not play a game 😬

Only other exemples I coild find were things that happened after the retirement announcement, which doesn't make it ok either but it doesn't exactly tell the same story as saying she retired because of harassment
