Confirmed multiple times in interviews even if it isn’t in official lining. I mean he has it in the intro to Control on the album itself.
If it was legit it would be on the album in writing. Just saying it in interviews makes it seem closer to the Thug “exec producers” which was just lip service for hype

Yea superstars exec producing just means the artist played them the album a couple months prior to release
Kanye didn’t really exec produce, it was a marketing fake out like when Thug said Drake exec produced Thugger Girls and Cole exec produced SMF
I dont think you know what executive producer means lol
Genuine question what separates carti from trav in terms of integrity
Did it even do s*** from a sales perspective? It seemed bigger because all the kids on this site hype it up and blow smoke up each other’s asses
Lmao Carti fans continue to post stuff like this, almost like they’re trying to convince themselves it’s true
I think the drake x kanye concert was a bigger moment than wlr dropping
KTT thread did numbers
Carti fanbase puts so much effort into their bs on internet that Carti doesn’t even need marketing like that lol
Genuine question what separates carti from trav in terms of integrity
Depends on cartis next album
This
It's really just ok
An album like WLR can’t just be “ok” that’s a word you can use to describe Drake’s entire discography
Depends on cartis next album
I’m speaking generally tho what does his next album have to do with validating the question?
When WLR dropped on Christmas it felt like it took the entire internet by storm. We all know how polarized the initial reaction was but everyone was talking about it. WLR has 3 features (2 good ones) and outside of cryptic messages/IG posts did it really have that much commercial promo?
DONDA on the other hand had 20 listening parties and a presidential run promo, and CLB got delayed several times and both had the whole industry on its track list. Yes both were more commercially successful BUT
Feels like WLR has had a bigger and more organic impact on the culture. Outside of select songs (W2S, Jail, Fair Trade) everything else kind just came and went. WLR is growing more popular by the day and it’s influence is already being felt.
Carti didn’t have to rely on commercialized beef or gimmicks to push this album and will probably shift the culture once again with Narcissist while his superiors are tap dancing for J Prince trying to release max security prisoners
Thoughts?
Simply put the polarization was what made it bigger than CLB and Donda
Donda wasn't a "big" moment because LP1 was mediocre, LP2 and LP3 rocked, but the final release seemed to have little to no creative direction, and by that point we had already livestreamed/attended listening parties. So there were very few surprises.
CLB wasn't "big" because Drake rushed it in response to Donda. I have no idea why the creative direction of CLB did a 180 at the last minute but the final release didn't include anything from the 2 years leading up to it. How many potential covers did we see with the CLB logo on it, how many leaked songs did we think would make the cut, how many DLDT songs should've just been held off for CLB?
Back to WLR. Kanye produced. Kanye and Carti truly clicking in the Atlanta warehouse studio. Carti had a clear vision based on punk rock a la Kanye in 2013 with Yeezus. WLR had an enormous amount of leaks e.g. Pissy Pamper and I think most people expected like, an enhanced version of DIE LIT with a bit of s/t mixed in. instead what we got was one of the most revolutionary hip hop albums of all time. Much like Yeezus, it's hard to even call WLR a hip hop album. It transcends genres. Oh yeah and it came out on f***ing Christmas, and nothing else was dropping, and the Carti fans were all making that priority #1 on the holiday.
Y'all forget or were too young but these "extended rollouts" that Ye and Drake have adopted didn't exist pre-internet or pre-hip hop becoming mainstream music. WLR proved that if you just focus on the album, without worrying about major promo and s***, and just drop absolute fire, your work with outstand that of even the greats.
Can't believe I just typed all that about WLR but as the kids on twitter say I was fighting for our lives in the trenches on Christmas 2020.
I feel like we’re slowly damaging carti legacy with these hyperboles
😂
Killing that man
Daily thread trying to force ppl to think WLR is more impactful than it is.
