Still a lot to explore drum pattern wise. I been wishing for a minute hip hop draws some serious inspiration from The King Of Limbs drums.

Ig what I'm saying is it f***n sucks that hiphop has been assimilated so much by every corner of society and now what used to be abrasive and avant-garde is the norm in some way and there might not room for artists to push the envelope further? BasicalIy I want more music like Yearn 101 and recs are welcome.

this isnt limited to music it applies to games tv and film and each has their ebbs and flows of golden age vs what rises to the top being more of the same

Its a chicken vs egg of the beats rappers pick and what producers make because rappers scared to rap on new s*** but also fans kind of perceive trap beats vs non trap beats a certain way

No its not

The mid 90’s and beyond generation (im included in this so save your butthurt) just lazy as f*** and grew up in a post 1995 media landscape wanting the results of fame and being a rapper or popstar more than caring about the actual artform

Thats why even in pop you have the late 2000’s 2009 “indie sleaze” cosplay, now ppl just want to be what they wanted to be when they grew up lol

Monte booker and sango already did ten years ago and it didn’t catch and change the entire sound of rap like it would have if they came out in 1997

Its the fans and rappers kinda gravitating towards stale s*** and moreso the fragmented nature of everything

Every artist that recently popped for only like 2-3 years max cause they spam one sound that got them hot in the first place.

I think about that missy Elliot quote about taking risks on your second album otherwise u get put in a box
