alternative to this - "damn we are s***, I see the problem, we have to do something." and understanding the problem is already doing something
I have plenty of male friends who are trying to protect women when they can, who are asking if they are okay when they look suspiciously too wasted in the club, or they seem uncomfortable with a man, reporting man doing pictures under skirts and etc. and that helps a lot, really, and I love them with my whole heart, and this type of men is the only type that I can feel safe with in one room
this is the alternative, and it works well because u can show some of the men with another point of view what is wrong and why women say stuff like that, because a lot of the times they wont listen to woman, but maybe will listen to a man

These are real but they are products of patriarchy. The patriarchy hurts both men and women in a way, and that is why men need to help women combat misogyny.

This is something both sides of this debate often fail to acknowledge but there is a lot of great feminist literature on the subject

A lot, made me realise how widespread stuff like eating disorders, self-harm and sexual abuse are, being a man absolutely has its own unique problems, but so many men seem to be blind to just how much stuff women deal with

Rape and other forms of sexual assault
Constant harassment from men while just going about your day (I'm not kidding, women been dealing with this even since we started wearing masks)
Harsher beauty standards
Less job opportunities and discrimination in the workplace
Periods, Pregnancy and child birth
Dealing with other women (because I think this point you tried to make was stupid)
Promiscuity and sexual liberation frowned upon, by both men and other women
Dating is actually harder for women (as men we find someone attractive and are in almost all cases the one to initiate. A girl sees an attractive guy and just has to hope he makes a move because a woman acting first could be seen as easy/desperate)

Periods alone is way worse than your entire list

100% agree, I was talking about the users who were acting like men should defend themselves and not challenge their behaviour, too many guys see self-reflection after hearing some 'Men are trash' stuff as weak, like there's a gender war and they shouldn't 'give in' to criticism from women, when the fact is that listening to women about this stuff can help you be a better person

Thank you for acknowledging that. And yes wll should combat misogyny while also seeing where men come from with their problems. Even if it’s from a patriarchy that many men now don’t even agree with and did not create but feel they have to go live in society

what country are you from? that sounds terrible. we had a lot of cases like that in my country too, but sadly answer to them a lot of the times is "damn she is so dumb, he is obviously crazy, why would u go out with him" etc
thank you for this story, this actually makes sense now. the only friend I had that understand the case somewhat fully from young age was the one who had a sister, and they were really close. so he could see all the stuff women are going through.
sadly men just cant see that stuff by themselves coz of being comfortable on that spot they're given and just the second they see woman saying this stuff they get so damn hurt. and its actually understandable in a way, but still tbh gives me "im ignorant f*** and im not planning to understand anything" vibes.
but actually understanding this made it so much easier to understand who is safe to talk to and who is not ready yet.
would be nice to live in a world where I didnt have to ask all of this questions before meeting a guy :) maybe it gets better some day
