Hard work isn’t rewarded in current society

It really doesn't, else my field of work would be payed way way more, but since you can evaluate the monetary value and the preventive uses for society of it pretty badly I guess it'll stay that way for a while.

There's a difference between working hard at something anyone can do and working hard at something few people can do. Those who can do specialized work are rewarded

So people don’t deserve a living wage bc they don’t work in a highly specialized field?

I believe they deserve a living wage. 100%. I think there should be a higher minimum wage in some areas. But I think when people are surprised that warehouse workers at amazon don't get paid significantly higher, it's really basic economics

I'm not hot s***. But I go to a top 5 university studying computer engineering and understand how basic economics works. Thousands of people can do what I do. And make 6 figures like I will. But won't. Because they don't want to do what it takes. I worked really f***ing hard at something no one else wants to

People tend to be more outraged with the working conditions and the rate at which they are expected to perform tbh

You assume people are lazy when it’s really moreso that they don’t have the resources to do so

Its hard to learn a new skill when you are forced to work full time in order to live paycheck to paycheck

I understand that. I know not everyone is lazy. A lot of people got s*** going on in life that they have to deal with. And I understand that. But at the same time I think many people make poor decisions. I believe education is something that needs to be improved in this country (among other things)

Ok what part about people making poor decisions has to do with rich people not paying their fair share of taxes

The top 1% of earners pay 37.3% of all the taxes in the country, and The bottom 50% of earners pay 3% of the taxes in the country. Per IRS tax revenue data. I'd say they pay their fair share

supply and demand really isn't that complicated

so the premise is because there are a lot of potential amazon workers they don't demand as much pay

and because there relatively few people who are computer engineers, the pay is higher right
