DISCLAIMER : this is not an anti men post in any shape or form, I have men in my life, a brother, cousins, a father, an uncle, friends, I love them and I want the world to be a better place for everyone, including them, don't try to twist my words
This is something that has been on my mind for a while, from discussion with people I know, social media, this very life sxn on ktt, and even myself at a point in my life... Why does it feel like a lot of men feel the need to go up against women whenever the issues women feel are being discussed?
An exemple would be when talking about rape, you're always gonna have someone saying "but men go through that too", which is true, granted, but how does it changes anything? Same when people say "if a woman did this no one would care", when talking about predatory behaviors... I don't understand it, what's the point of using such a diversion to undermine the struggles women face?
Also, its not only a problem for women, I think the people who get hurt the most by this mindset are men theirselves. Men need help in this era, because men are lost and confused with all this loser, alpha, beta, hyper masculinity, whatever talk. But the answer is not going to war with women because most of the time men's biggest ennemies are theirselves, and it's honestly sad to see.
I've seen this behavior on ktt plenty of times over the last few weeks and it's been making me feel kinda distressed just looking at life sxn... Some of you guys should realize it's not only men browsing this site, and that saying women are evil and bad is really not nice and also kind of alienating.
Now I'm asking, how can we as normal people, help men to feel less like strangers to women, to make them understand that women and men aren't so different from each other and could totally understand each other with their differences and similarities?
So yeah that's pretty much all i had to say, I welcome civil discussion and no hate or baiting in this thread. I will lock it if anyone tries to derail. I hope I'm making sense too, English isn't my first language and while I'm ok with it I struggle when I have to write longer things, sorry if some parts aren't clear, feel free to ask me to clarify anything.
My personal point of view on this issue :
I was born male and for most of my life I felt like I had to see myself in opposition with women and that i had to defend being a man in any situation, which made me act like an a****** in some relationships when I was younger, but once I got older I realized I would feel way better if I actually tried to understand women better, and like to work with them on building a safer space for everyone... And the thing is, it works! Well long story short I kinda realized I wasn't so much a man and here we are now
but for what this story's worth I feel like it shows things aren't set in stone and men and women can understand each other.
Idk my family raised me with confidence & the ability to do what i think im capable so im lucky & not like these other loser niggas that walk around with a complex & falsehoods
Thank you mom and dad
Everyday that I browse life sxn my hatred of men grows stronger
Let's fix it, we don't have to hate anyone!
some most insecure men i ever met are people which call themselves alpha, chad etc unironically because they build a façade about themselves when they really insecure
This is pretty basic, men should be fighting for women's issues and women should be fighting for men's issues. Your credibility is judged by your gender, your race and your skin colour.

I don't get the last part about credibility, wdym?

It doesn't have to get derailed smh I'm trying to open a real discussion

gender threads always end the same, which I know is the point of this thread, but unfortunately I don't think that means it will be any different

this talking about how some people think all men or all minorities are bad people is wrong
everyone is responsible whether or not they are violent regardless if their privileged or not.
