Frank Sobotka is literally one of the best characters in the show & it gave us the Greek

But besides those characters, the way the docks & the union were tied into the d*** game is brilliant. This is the season where the Wire let loose of being restricted to strictly street s*** & allowed for more systems in society to be dissected.

Interesting, since another person said it didn’t hold up for them upon rewatching! Mostly I’ve heard that you end up empathizing with Skyler way more the second time around, haha. I stopped in the middle of the Gus season years ago, I need to rewatch it and finish it.

idk because i haven't seen sopranos yet and need to watch more of the wire but not mad men

and f*** em for taking it off netflix too even if i wanted to give it a second chance

Yeah at first I was put off by it but when you understand the show is about institutions and how they influence and are influenced by people then it's a must tbh

for me, breaking bad is tied with the wire but both are better than the sopanos
however

first season is better than all of them

The Wire and Sopranos are tied for me. I really wanna say The Wire is best of all but they fell off too hard with season 5 even though the ending is still great. The Sopranos was great all the way through though. mfs go in on S6 but I loved it. one of the few drama series that gets better and better as it progresses

I could never properly get into Mad Men and I tried multiple times but I don’t think it’s my kind of show. for that reason, I’d put Breaking Bad next but objectively Mad Men might be better. idk though, I haven’t seen it the whole way through

Ive seen BB while it was airing and havent seen Made Men. I watched both the wire & sopranos during the pandemic.

My rankings would go:

1a) The Wire
1b) The Sopranos
3. BB

The wire & The Sopranos serve two different purposes. I felt I could put on Sopranos at anytime and enjoy what I was watching instantly, whereas the wire made me sit down and lock in, but it was by far the most rewarding tv show ever. Both very good, probably the best tv shows ive ever watched.
