Sopranos the true goat (mj)
Breaking bad the millennials that don't know betters goat (lebron)
Better call saul the overrated talented player that ppl try to force into the goat conversation (KD)
bcs is curry
Breaking Bad
Mad Men
Better Call Saul
Succession
The Sopranos
The Wire
The Wire S2 was awful, I don't want to hear it
The Sopranos is clearly influential but other shows like BB improves on what it did
I need to rewatch both shows + check out The Leftovers, Six Feet Under and Twin Peaks. But that's my ranking right now
Word? Actually never heard of this show
it’s incredibly hard to find now. only reason i know about it is because the creator also created Angel, the Buffy spinoff

i’ve only ever seen the pilot. and going purely off that, it’s not f***ing with The Sopranos pilot imo. but i wouldn’t be surprised if David Chase got some inspiration
I just started season 4 of sopranos and this show might go down as the best one among all the ones listed
The Wire is the best
The Sopranos is second-best. main thing holding it back is that i struggled to empathize with most of the characters, whereas i wept for so many mfs on The Wire
Breaking Bad slander itt is disgusting

just because you didn’t understand The Wire S2 doesn’t mean it was awful. and BB was an improvement over The Sopranos?? seriously? why do you feel that way?

Yeah I seen last night it’s on YouTube. Ima binge it today.
Dope find
“Sopranos before sopranos” definitely has me intrigued.

Weird trailer lol
These are hidden gems sometimes tho, like this show right here i watched on youtube, was basically the wire before the wire, same creator, lots of same actors, and does the kids becoming dope boys subplot before wire season 4 did, and it was real easy to watch, and based on real ppl and events ![]()

besides maybe naymond or some of the school kids, who did you weep for?

The Sopranos just wasn't as good as everyone says it is for me. Not as exciting as Breaking Bad, Tony isn't as interesting as Walt and I felt like the show didn't really conclude. The finale just felt like another episode
And The Wire S2 was just jarring and not as good as the first season. I was so glad when they went back to the S1 characters in S3
Like I said, I need to rewatch them both though. But Sopranos really wasn't hitting on first watch, The Wire S3 and S4 are up there though

i’ve heard a lot about that show but never watched it. i know the lead actor, Sean Nelson is the same kid from the movie Fresh
i gotta check it out eventually

Bodie, Bubbles, Cutty, Colvin, and Omar. even the more comic characters like Poot and Slim Charles earned my affection
there were a couple of Sopranos characters who i felt for at certain moments. but i know you’re only on season 4 and i don’t want to spoil it for you
but with The Sopranos, my love for the cast was more cerebral than anything. like, i was fascinated by them and admired how well-written they were, but they didn’t tug at my heartstrings like a lot of The Wire characters were able to

bro i felt the exact same way about The Wire S2 when i first watched. i don’t even think i finished the season initially, i just skipped to S3 about halfway through. but when you rewatch it, you will appreciate it a hell of a lot more
when you’re not desperately anticipating follow-up to the Barksdale storylines of S1, it is easier to appreciate what the Sobotka family brought to the show
the thing about The Wire that i love and am simultaneously frustrated by is that it’s not a character-based show. the series is all about portraying a world and a system that is an accurate reflection of the one we live in. and S2 is very pivotal in that regard. you can’t do a show about the war on d**** while shying away from exploring how the d**** get to the US and also exploring how it’s not just a racial issue that only involves minorities
out of curiosity, how do you feel about S5 though? that’s truly the weakest season of the show imo, although the ending is phenomenal

I still need to watch S5 but everyone says it's bad so I don't think it'll improve how I feel about The Wire
the wire>sopranos>breaking bad

i def. feel the same way about bodie and bubbles. their stories hit me emotionally, especially with how things turned out for bubbles. a lot of emotional investment on this show

i initially felt this way about s2 of the wire being at the docks. i actually stopped watching up to that point and decided to go back to it during lockdown and i ended up enjoying it. to each their own
