Mad Men gotta be the most overhyped show in tv history
How sway. The rest of the general top primetime shows got resurgences and/or spin offs. Mad men got low-key forgotten by the mainstream

Swear someone put Game of Thrones over like 3/4 of these shows despite at least 2 seasons of pure ASS and you're saying this
boy meets world
the sopranos
friday night lights
the wire
succession
Out of those:
Mad Men
The Wire
Breaking Bad
Sopranos
But Better Call Saul is better than Breaking Bad, and slide The Leftovers in there too. Six Feet Under in the convo too.
for replay value it’s Sopranos, for the ceiling of these series it’s a very close call btwn BB & The Wire, BB is teflon in terms of consistency no matter who wants to call it boring now

What do you mean how? There’s literally nothing exciting about an advertisement agency and it’s executives. Sure there’s some great dialogue and historical references but there is no action, there is little character development, the people who died mostly died from getting sick, no standout scenes/ characters/ quotables etc etc. Everything that makes a tv show great is barely there for Mad Men to be in that category. It can be in the good tv show slot, not great

Yeah GoT's definitely not better than the Sopranos but it deserves a spot at the top even despite the s***ty last seasons. Too many brilliant episodes and moments for it not to be.

"everything that makes a tv show great is barely there"
mad men feels like it's on a different level than the competition to me because it doesn't need interesting ways to kill characters, or rely on action at all. it's a different pace then a lot of whats considered in this tier, which i think alone shows how incredible it truly was. the perfect balance of episodic stories that all play into the long term arcs of the characters.
also saying no memorable scenes/characters/quotables is insane

I just started season 4 of sopranos and this show might go down as the best one among all the ones listed
With the caveat that I’ve never seen the wire, the sopranos is by far the greatest television show I’ve ever seen. Nothing else comes close.
actually Jim Profit was the first. from the TV show Profit
it aired in 1997 and only lasted 8 episodes. Jim walked so that Tony could run
Word? Actually never heard of this show
