That’s like a boxer saying “he’s better than me at everything except talking”

  • Dot could write a Lupe album but Lupe could never write a Dot album

  • 1996 BRL

    It's a backhanded compliment
I meant really who says 'he has a better team than me' when discussing stuff like this

He’s discussing Dot being the better artist. With Lupe largely producing his own album and mixing with local engineers, Kendrick has a better team by far. Not really a backhanded compliment

Yeah saying Kendrick is better at everything except one aspect Lupe is very strong in is not exactly a backhanded compliment.

  • Nothing he said in the first tweet is wrong. You want him to lie instead? Kendrick’s pen is not better than Lupe’s.

Lupe is right, (but he is also a b**** for the amount of times he brings up Kendrick lmao) he's a better lyricist than Dot (depending on how you define that) but I think Dot is the better writer.

"I know some rappers using big words to make they similes curve, my simplest s*** be more pivotal"

What we found out Kendrick said to Isaiah Rashad about his music recently too kinda tells me that Kendrick either has a different definition of lyricism or just doesn't value it as much as writing skills.

  • Capri

He on BBQ timing now and his music not even cracking 400k views on YouTube

Tbf, this a corny music video with an inferior version of the song. The audio on his channel has 1.3 million views

It makes sense if you consider Lupe's history with Atlantic and what they were doing

Easy for Lupe to look at the nigga who gets compared to him but had TDE, Dr Dre and West Coast legends in his corner and point out that difference

I agree with this. Lupe might be more skilled at lyricism, but Kendrick more effective at delivering what he's saying to the listener

What did he say to Isaiah?

I would say my other projects were just as revealing, but now I’m better at writing it out plain now. I used to think I had to have this line behind this line, but I think it was always there. I just got really better at…I just stopped trying to make things complicated.

That’s the one critique Dot Kendrick Lamar had for me for a while was “Nobody gonna understand what the f–k you’re saying. It’s too puzzle-y.” I took that as an insult for a long time, to the point where I bucked it. I was like “F–k this guy.” But with this project, I be lookin’ for change in everything. I’m kind of a scientist with this s–t, and all artists are scientists with what they do. I’m just tryna stop writing in hieroglyphics.

I still love his new album but I kinda disagree with what Kendrick said to him because Isaiah Rashad being abstract is what I like about him

I seen some comments saying people are surprised that Kendrick gave this advice considering his own music which makes me wonder where this narrative that Kendricks music is too difficult to understand even came from in the first place

EDIT: bruh was talking in circles the whole live and kept using Elle as his mouthpiece. This whole episode was a whole narrative spin.

And he lowkey been showing his blind self in videos like this

And this nigga was naming Rosenberg Raw as one of the 100 rappers that are “better” than Kendrick….

It’s to the point that Rosenberg had to call out BS

He just don’t rate him like that lol. Some people just don’t vibe with Kendrick like that & that’s ok.

Point blank as a former lupe stan

Hes jealous Kendrick went the conscious route and got all the praise and label backing and crossed over easily

When Lupe was at his prime he had tons of people who shunned his conscious/political outspoken subject matter in his music. On top of that his label sabotaged his career like crazy.

He sees Kendrick's career and thinks thats what he shouldve had
He's also an egotistical pseudo intellect a****** whos salty as f***

Makes sense but also lasers was trash

Im not mad at this, since he gotta uplift himself. I have a problem when this nigga is naming random rap niggas we never heard of and claim they all better than Dot.

    YOU never heard of.

  • 'Dot' is so cringeworthy

  • “See what they do for views” one of the best battle rap quotes of all time.

  • Does lupe write for drake

Hes right that people moved on from him too fast and he has a legendary discography but after the cool people stopped rly putting him in that top tier of popularity

Part of this is his own fault too tho.

Lupe consistently also tends to talk A LOT and just makes a lotta false promises that dont ever come true and niggas got tired of that (this imo was always his biggest flaw, nigga just be talking so much)

We was supposed to get LUPE.N.D. (Never happened)

We was supposed to get All City Chess Club (Never happened)

We was supposed to get a collab album with Soundtrakk (his best producer) called Skulls for like the past 15 years (also never happened)

Mans had a blog where he regularly updated us through the process of fighting with the label over Lasers and how Atlantic was holding it hostage and or making him change it up. Then said “Success” like everything was solved *nigga that was the first album I bought with my own money in high school just to get it and instantly feel buyer’s remorse. Oh and keeps being contradictory on how he feels about that album lol.

This kinda stuff versus a rapper that virtually dont be talking outside of the music is gonna make people side with the latter.

I was moreso referring to @op s***ting on rosenburg raw
