    Hating

I love when he does that.

Lupe got all the support he needed from Atlantic, he just wanted to do things his way instead of what they had planned for him

Atlantic didn’t want him to do lyrically conscious stuff. They saw superstar and said he needed to do more poppy rap since it was the Alex da Kid era. I get it’s not entirely on Atlantic because Lupe had to come up thru the ringtone rap and synth pop bullshit eras whereas Kendrick was coming up in the Drake era where you could just be yourself as a rapper and sell off that but the point remains that Lupe 100% couldn’t make the music he wanted unlike Kendrick

No way you seriously think Lupe wanted to release Lasers as it was

Lupe made an entire song a double entendre. He’d smoke Kendrick. Pound for pound Lupe is the best rappper of all time.

    Gloria???

  • So tired of Lupe and this s***

  • hes just upset his career wasnt up to par

  • Teejayx6

Point blank as a former lupe stan

Hes jealous Kendrick went the conscious route and got all the praise and label backing and crossed over easily

When Lupe was at his prime he had tons of people who shunned his conscious/political outspoken subject matter in his music. On top of that his label sabotaged his career like crazy.

He sees Kendrick's career and thinks thats what he shouldve had
He's also an egotistical pseudo intellect a****** whos salty as f***

    Basically

  • this is not an alt

Brother literally called Kendrick better than him at everything except lyrics and yall say he’s ’bitter’

It’s less about this specific comment and a pattern of his other comments towards Kendrick over years. But yeah he’s correct, Lu is more lyrical than Kendrick… that’s about it

  • WhoAmI

Also Lupe doesn't do himself any favors with how he argues

"You aren't qualified to disagree with me! I teach a class at MIT 🤓"

Like bro this is hip hop, no one cares

The irony is he’s taught a class on Kendrick lol

Lupe fiasco day still a vibe here but I couldn’t agree more

signing to atlantic was a mistake Lupe made, should’ve signed to GOOD or Interscope

Yeah he should just say “I’m not your savior” so that we can ignore any contradictions or shortcomings and say “he said it already!”

It’s really no question who is more enlightened and positive between dot and Lupe. Dots albums made depression more widespread, I firmly believe that. u did more harm than good

Lupe just tryna be Kendrick's Dame Dash

  • SCOUSER

Not speaking on the rest of his discog as I never really gave it a proper chance

But it's kinda sad to me him almost boxing himself in as just lyrical rapper... Lupe first 2 albums he for sure made great music that sounded good as hell with mainstream appeal as well as still being artistic and lyrical, like Kendrick

He definitely had it in him, whether it's his label and team messing it up, or him deciding to go another route, or a combo of all 3 I don't know

atlantic f***ed him with his third album, then he decided to opt out of the industry, go independent and focus solely on becoming the best rapper

obviously a few other things in the middle, but it was a conscious choice on his behalf after lasers and getting out of his atlantic deal with tetsuo & youth

Lupe joins the live at the ~3 hour mark and expands on points

  • 2words

People act like Lupe is this overly cryptic lyricist but he never spit anything as hard to make sense of as “warriors and Conan’s hope euphoria can slow dance with society”

You f***ed the bar up lol it’s not “Conan’s hope. it’s “ Conans.” meaning Barbarians. Warriors and Barbarians, like how niggas in the streets/gang members see themselves as soldiers/warriors/Savages you name it in the trenches.

The previous bar he called out his homies and recalled them outside ridin round on some young nigga s*** wilding, stacking their hood moving like Warriors and Conans (barbarians).

The euphoria s***, he broke down himself. Basically wishing for peace or that niggas don’t lose their lives that night. Then the next lines are him remembering seeing when s*** went left in front of his eyes and he seen a nigga get bodied

  • All he needed to do was those pop rap songs like what Kendrick did and he could talk about them all day long.
